Sweat dripped down her face. It felt so hot. It wasn't a moment ago though. Maybe it had something to do with why it became hard to breathe. Short gasps barely escaped her and it hurt. She couldn't let herself break down like this! She needed to stay calm! This had happened before, no, there had been worse. So what made this different? The hands now shook violently as they reached out around another arm that was far colder than she. Tears, though small, now coursed down her red cheeks mixing in with the sweat. The man that lay in her arms was shaking viciously now. His arm was cold to the touch but his skin perspired as if he just came out of a pool. He muttered to himself with incoherent words clutching the temples of his head, hard. Not knowing what else to do, she yelled.
"Doctor! Doctor can you hear me?! Hold on helps coming!"
Rose pulled her sonic screwdriver out of her pocket and buzzed it across his body. She couldn't detect anything. Nothing at all! How did this all happen? He was acting weird earlier but Rose hadn't imagined this to happen!
"R-Rose..." The Doctor whispered, barely audible, but enough for her to hear.
"Doctor I'm here! What's wrong? What can I do?" She lifted his shaking head slightly so his fluttering eyes could see her.
"I-It's t-taking over...I can't hold on... too strong..." His hands clamped over his ears now. There was an intense mental battle going on. Rose didn't know if he could fight this at all. If it was them then it would be a miracle, but she had to remember, he was part Time Lord. All she could do was encourage him to fight on until the others came. They'd know what to do.
"R-Rose... I'm so sorry...I should've told you. Y-you've become so strong...y-you didn't deserve t-this...I should-" He was cut off by Rose's finger over his trembling lips.
"Darn right you should've! So just remember in the future. Right now you need to fight it. Come on! Use that amazing mind of yours. You're so much smarter than they are! So hang on... please... don't leave me...". Her voice started to quiver. At this she could see a slight smirk crawl up onto his face.
"Rose Tyler, are you crying over me?"
"Shut up." She whispered with a slight grin. It quickly disappeared as an awful groan escaped him and the shaking increased.
"S-so cold..." She squeezed his skinny figure in an attempt to cure his cold frail body. More tears escaped across her cheeks. His breathing became fast and jagged. Foot steps could be heard coming towards them. At this Rose spun around with joy.
"Over here! Quick!" The two figures ran up at impeccable speed. So it was defiantly a Time Lord thing.
"Doctor it's in him!" She yelled frantically.
"Oh no, no, no, no, NO!!!" A horrified expression on his face as he came close and took in the scene.
"Oh my..." River Song gasped beside him.
The screwdriver was soon out and buzzing across his body. The Doctor flicked the device up and frowned even further. Apparently no hope as with hers.
"What can we do? The others had no chance but he is part Time Lord. Is there hope?" Rose looked up at those old eyes desiring it to be true so very much.
"I don't know." The shaking Doctor's gash on his head had begun to bleed again. With nothing else around The other Doctor reluctantly undid his bowtie and gently pressed it upon the wound.
"Doctor please!" She pleaded nearly reaching out to grab his coat. He looked her in the eyes but was stopped before he could say anything.
"M-Molecu-cular divider...n-no TARDIS...they want... get power.... stronger... growing stronger..."
The Doctor and Rose exchanged confused glances. River sprang up excited.
"I know what he means! I used one before." She paused a moment making sure that they were paying attention. "There was a Siclordian that decided my mind was to its fancy to preserve itself but not realizing who I was of course, anyway I got it out with one. We can do the same for him! It would kill a human but we might have a chance!"
Hope dawned on the Doctor.
"Of course! But it's extremely risky even with a Time Lord much less part Time Lord." He turned now towards River. "and how'd you end up with a Siclordian?"
The woman smiled mischievously.
"Spoilers." Rose could see the Doctor mouthing her comment. She turned back to her Doctor and made an attempt to lift him. He was so light but the constant shaking made it extremely hard to keep him up.
"Well don't just stand there. Help me get him to this Molecular Divider!" Without a word they sprang over and did as they were told. As the three of them (mainly just the Doctor and Rose as River was leading the way) were carrying the human Doctor away Rose tried to think back to when all this had started. A Couple days ago of course, but was that really it? Maybe it started a year ago or maybe since she had first held the Doctor's hand and heard the words "run".
