Tucker stifled a yawn as he followed Tom into the training hall. He had been up late last night, not doing anything in particular, just pacing his dorm and thinking. He knew he needed more sleep, but it would be a death wish to stay in bed.
When he and the other's entered the training hall, Tucker was surprised to see Martha sitting in the chair where Steve normally sat. She didn't notice the four until Jordan cleared his throat. She looked up.
"You kids can have the day off. Steve had some.. things to do..." Martha said. For once, the training hall was empty. Except for Tucker and his friends. He looked at Tom, who shot an incredulous look back. Tucker knew Steve wouldn't just leave without reason. But that wasn't any of their business, now was it? Tucker turned towards the door, hearing Sonja say something about visiting James. Personally, he would have rather went back to his dorm and sleep, but he still followed the other's down the long corridor to the Wizards' wing.
He was surprised his friends had not noticed anything yet. Tucker was normally the most awake, even during early morning training sessions with Steve. But that didn't last too long. All it took was for Tucker to trip over his feet and fall flat on his face for his friends to suggest he should go to sleep.
"Nah, I'm fine guys. I'll wake up a bit more soon," he said wearily. That was all it took for Jordan and Sonja, who turned back around and continued forward. But Tom's gaze lingered on him for a bit longer. He turned away, shaking his head, and followed after the other two. Tucker stumbled after them.
Suddenly, he felt something cold splash his face. Water. He scrunched his eyes shut, wiping his face of the cold liquid. When he opened them again, he saw Sonja smiling widely holding an empty bottle in front of him. Tom was behind her, laughing so hard he had to lean against the wall for support. And in the doorway, Jordan and James were both snickering.
"Thanks, Sonj," Tucker said dryly, shoving her shoulder, but he was smiling too. He was thankful for her splashing him, because he was much more awake now. The five friends walked through the door into James' room.
"Hey, Andor's here!" Tom said shutting the door behind him. Tucker looked toward the corner of the room, where Andor sat reading a book. He looked up and smiled at the group, climbing down from his chair and running to Jordan's side. Tucker didn't see Andor much. He spent most of his time with James working on spells and the like, and when he wasnt he was playing with Jordan and Tom.
"So what brings you all here?" James inquired, leaning against a table, attempting to look cool, but instead knocking over a stack of books. And some of those book landed on some potions that were sitting on the floor, causing the bottles to shatter and their contents to spill all over the floor. And the other books opened and notes fell out and scattered across the floor. James looked at the mess he made with wide eyes.
"Well, I guess we're helping you clean up!" Jordan laughed, crouching down to pick up the books. Tucker joined him, snickering slightly. He reached forward and grabbed a book with a red cover. When his fingers touched the cover, it felt warm under his skin. He flipped it over in his hand, reading "Blood Magic" from the cover.
"Hey, James, what's this?" James looked over his shoulder at the book Tucker was holding.
"Oh, nothing important," he said quickly, grabbing the book and setting it on the table. Odd.. Tucker thought. Why was he acting so weird about that book? In the past, he had let some of his friends borrow whatever books they wanted about magic. Jordan even learned enough to prank him and Sonja with voodoo dolls for days until Tom finally told them. Tucker went back to cleaning, resolving to just ask about it later.
The group talked and joked around for a while until Tucker felt about ready to pass out from exhaustion. He told the group he was going back to the dorm to sleep. He turned to leave, but before he left he grabbed the Blood Magic book and hid it under his vest, determined to read it later.

Tucker woke in the middle of the night. He looked over and saw Tom and Jordan, both asleep in bed. He turned to the other side, grabbing the blood magic book from under the bed. Tucker sat up and grabbed the candle next to him.
"Light," he said quietly. The wick lite up, not super bright, but enough to read. It was a magic candle one of the wizards showed them how to make. Matt, his name was? Tucker set the candle down on the small table next to the table and began to read.
Introduction:
Blood Magic is a type of magic driven from life it's self. Unlike other types of magic, that are usually only able to be learned by people with magic in their blood, Blood Magic can be learned by anyone. Blood Magic is a magic that can give the user powers to fly, preform curses, and more. Warning: Blood Magic makes the user easily able to be hypnotized, possessed, etc. do to lack of Life Points.
And the rest of the book was a collection of different spells and tools associated with Blood Magic. Tucker's eyes skimmed the page titled "When Beginning Blood Magic". On the page were pictures of a red orb, labeled Weak Blood Orb. He read that this orb was what was needed to start Blood Magic. He flipped through the book, searching where to find this orb. Nothing about it. He sighed, planning on going to check the library for more information tomorrow.
Tucker closed the book, put out the candle, and rolled over and fell asleep.
A lame slightly filler chapter I'm sorry guys (>☆<)
But don't worry, I'm already writing more when this is published.
BTW, is anyone even still reading this book?
...
Ah who cares, I love writing it and that should be what matters!
