Will you teach me?" she asked. The boy looked at her, confused. "Teach you what, Cara?" he asked, his voice kind and patient.

"Will you teach me how to ... dream?" He was taken aback, not expecting this kind answer from her. After a few silent moments, Xander started to chuckle ever so slightly. The girl with wild green eyes glared at him.

"Cara-" he paused for a brief moment looking at her with eyes filled with love and respect "-I can teach you many things: how to write your name, a story, how to paint that moment when the sun touches the horizon and the sky is an explosion of colors, even how to climb the highest and coldest of mountains, but I can't teach you how to dream." the light in her eyes dimmed, almost disappearing and she no longer wanted to face him, so she just stared at the ground.

But then, he continued:

"Dreaming is something that everyone is capable of. The ugliest of beasts, the scariest of dragons, the evilest of villains, even the most shattered people can do it. The capacity of dreaming is probably the only thing that no one can take away from us or tell us if its right or wrong. It's something magical that even the most rotten of hearts is capable of." he continued gently.

" And it'll take time, I know, but if you can still dream after all the things that you'e been through, it means that you're the strongest person that ever existed. So please, please, even if I can't teach you how to dream,you have to keep trying and I promise you that you'll discover that teaching yourself is much more helpful than someone else doing it for you." he then slowly took her chin in his hands and lifted it up, his icy blue eyes meeting her gaze. And then he whispered:

"Remember to always look up at the stars and not at your feet." And in the darkness of the night their lips touched, and they both discovered that their lips fitted perfectly like missing pisses of an uncompleted puzzle.

I know what's wrong in this chap but I seriously don't know how to make it better.

Anyway, this is an extract from Cara and Xander's past just so you can understand their relationship so its easy for you to comprehend some of their reactions/ actions / words/ misunderstanding in the future chapters.
