George was sitting in class dozing off to the sound of his professors boring voice, when the silence that absorbed the classroom turned into chatter. He was fully awakened when he heard the closing of textbooks and scooting of chairs that signaled that the class was now over. With a sigh he combed through his messy hair and tiredly stood up, gathered his things, and he was off to the library for his lunch break.
It's not really a "break" if you're still working, is it?

NYU wasn't cheap so George pushed himself to keep his grades up. But with the whole YouTube channel starting to take off, he started to slip and changed his focus from college, to filming. So, needless to say, he was behind on his school work, and god, was he tired.

He could barley keep his head up as he sat down at a corner desk in the library, which he figured out was one of the quieter spots in the room. There, he pulled out his laptop and started working on the important stuff.

Editing a video.

George walked on the sidewalk back to his apartment, hands in his pockets and his head hung low, looking at his feet as he walked. He reached his building complex and entered the shabby lobby. As he was heading towards the elevator, he heard a sigh and a girls voice, "I'm never gonna get this up there."

He peeked around at the staircase and saw a girl leaning on the railing supporting a piano keyboard on its side.

"Do you need some help?"

The girl looked up and scanned Joji up and down for a quick second and sighed, "Yes, please, I've been trying to do this for about 20 minutes now." She said with a chuckle.

George gave a small laugh, "Um, why not use the elevator?"

"It's broken," She replies gesturing over to it.

He looks over and there indeed is a sign that says, "ELEVATOR OUT OF SERVICE"

He chuckles and nods his head, "Right, so let me help you with that," He says taking the opposite side of the keyboard, "Shit, this is kinda heavy,"

The girl laughs, "Hm, yeah, it was really a workout to even get it in here."

George chuckles as they make their way up the stairs, slowly but surely, "What floor are you on?"

"Third," She says quietly, "But I'm totally fine, I can take it, you really don't have to help."

"No, no, I'm on the third floor, too. It's fine."

After a lot of stairs, they finally make it to the designated floor, the girl leads the way to an apartment whose door was already open.

"Oh, so you're definitely new here," George says gesturing at boxes scattered all over the apartments floor.

She chuckles, "Yep. Just moved from Virginia."

George nods, "Oh, shit, sorry, I'm so rude," He says sticking out his hand, "I'm George."

"I'm Melanie," She says, shaking George's hand.

"Well, it's great to meet you, Melanie." George said with a smile, "If you need help with anything else, I'm down the hall."

"Oh, that's so sweet of you, thank you."

"No problem, I'll see you around." George said as he walked out and headed towards his apartment. While reaching for his keys from his pockets, he noticed a sign on his door with big red lettering that read,
'EVICTION NOTICE'
With a groan and a slight punch to the door, George bowed his head, "You've gotta be kidding me."
