It was dark. Probably a quarter after 9 as I walked home from the Ice Cream shop down the street. I wasn't paying much attention to where I was walking, my body moved on it's own almost mechanically. My mind was a mess from the 10 hour shift I had just suffered through. I was tired but still in no hurry to be home. My footsteps were the only ones to be heard on the damp road. My surroundings were all programmed into my head since I have been taking this route to work everyday for a couple years. For a second I thought I heard a yell. I turn around sharply but blackness is all I can see. It must be nothing I think to myself and continue on my route. I hear a bush move and I start to feel anxious. I pick up my speed and try to calm myself down. It's my imagination, working for too long got the best of me. I hear a loud screech on road behind me. As I go to turn around I hear a loud deep voice scream "Look Out!" I shut my eyes on instinct and feel a harsh slam into my body which knocks me to the ground. I open my eyes and groan but my vision is blurred from the impact. I see a tall figure, a guy to be more exact. His hand reaches down to mine and he yanks me off the ground roughly. Instead of letting my hand go he begins to run, his grip on my hand only grows tighter. I turn around and see his skate board laying on the pavement. "Wait your skate board!" I yell to the guy holding my hand." His speed increases and he doesn't even look back. "Forget it! They'll find us!" In an instant I recognize the voice, it's Jacob Warren. The misunderstood boy.
