"Why is it always raining this time of year?" Bucky said marching around, tossing his clothes all over the room. "It was supposed to be a new day, with a nice girl, and my best bud-" He stopped. He stood in the center of the room, facial expression blank, and stared at his best friend who was sitting on the windowpane, glancing out the window.

"You're not going to be like this all day are you?" Bucky asked. "This is a big day! Come on, man. I'm about to be a father and you." He trailed off. "You- You're–"

"Yeah, Bucky." Steve answered softly. "I'm going to be fine." He looked over at Bucky who was without any pants. "You gonna put something on your legs?"

Bucky was still serious, everything around them was serious. The tension. The space. It was almost suffocating. "Steve," He said sympathetically. "I know it's not the easiest thing–"

"You know nothing."

"That's not true." Bucky's eyes widen "That's not fucking true at all, you know why? I'll tell ya, it's not true because what I know is that you need to get out more, you don't need a new girl you just need sometime to.. relax." He trailed again. He stared at his friend who was again looking out the window dramatically.

What do I say now?

"Steve." Bucky said more sternly, he walked towards his friend who still wouldn't look back at him. "Steve, look, man I'm sorr-" As Bucky placed a hand on his pal's shoulder, Steve jumps up and pushes himself away.

"Stop." Steve said trying not to break down into a puddle of sobs. "You don't know. You don't know anything."

"Then tell me. For God's sake, Steve, just fucking talk to me!" His voice broke and his eyes began to water. The pained hoarse voice finally caused Steve to make eye contact. "This kills me as much as it kills you. I may not know what it was like, but not being able to help you even in the slightest bit of way kills me. So please.. Steve, I'm begging you. What ever happened, what ever she did to you.. It's over now. This is our last night together before we have to go back to college. Are you with me?"

There was a moment of unbelievable silence. Steve couldn't help the drop of tears the fell down his cheeks, the sight of his best friend breaking like that was more than too much for him. Heavy breathing and raindrops were the only thing to be heard only after Steve finally replied to him:

"I'm with you." He said slowly. "'Till the end of the line."
