There was a pregnant pause before she finally spoke. "I've decided that I will work for you. However, I'm also terribly afraid of what Andrew will do...if he finds out that I'm staying with you, there will be a lot of trouble." Davey chewed his lip softly before deciding upon his answer. "I suggest you message him; however, if anything happens or he threatens you, you better inform the police." Salaria smiled again finally. "I will, sir. Now, I suggest we both get a nice rest." Davey nodded in agreement.

The first day wasn't too eventful. Salaria happily saw Davey off in the morning, put in her notice at work, he locked her in, and she got right to work. The only truly eventful thing was her boyfriend's response, and he responded predictably...angry, one could even say furious. The response had shaken her to the bone, so she did as her and Davey had discussed the night before. The house needed a lot of dusting mostly, but she couldn't blame the man who lived there a bit with how busy he seemed all of the time.

Sal was down on her hands and knees, swiping dust bunnies from their dusty and cobweb decorated burrows, when her boss finally entered. Davey nearly brought himself to tears as he bit his lip to refrain from laughter at the sight before him. The young woman was practically under the couch with only her lower half still out. He heard a defeated huff as Sal threw her rag out from underneath. "Mr. Havok..."

Davey chuckled as he grabbed her ankles gently and dragged her out. Sal relaxed finally and sat back on her knees as she breathed cleaner air and held her aching back. When she looked, Davey's eyes were no longer on her. They were slowly inspecting and observing all the work she'd done throughout the day. "Considering I was only gone for a few hours today, this place is starting to look fantastic. I'm especially impressed you've gotten rid of the inch of dust on everything due to my lack of attentions."

Sal smiled brightly. She finally was staying with someone that would allow her to keep everything clean and not go right behind her to mess it all up. She knew it was still early, but maybe her life would improve even further. "Mr. Havok..." The dark eyes refocused on her finally.

"Are you feeling hungry? It's just after lunch time. I could make you a small snack at least." Davey softened and smiled gently, but he also seemed deeply lost to Sal. "That sounds nice, my dear. Thank you." Sal smiled, washed her hands, and set to work. Davey announced that he was retreating to the study, and when Sal finally walked in with his snack he had already fallen into sleep.

Sorry for such a short chapter this time, but I have a special plan for the next chapter. All is according to plan as I've decided to have the next chapter be longer, and have also decided that the next part should be altogether than start in the middle of this one. Thank you guys so much for reading! XOXO
