"So, what are your hobbies?" Gilbert asked, handing Matthew a hot cocoa.

"Thanks." He said, smiling. He sighed and watched the cold mist escape his mouth as he thought.

"I don't really have many hobbies, besides work and taking care of kuma." He sat on a bench nearby and paused, then blushed at his cocoa.

"Well, I do have one... But its embarrassing." He said, sheepishly looking at Gilbert. Gilbert smiled and laughed.

"Oh, come on! Tell Me! I won't laugh! I promise." He said, extending a pinky to Matthew as he sat next to him. Matthew smiled again and wrapped his pinky around Gilbert's.

"Sometimes, not a lot, in fact, only on special occasions! I knit. But like I said, sometimes!" Matthew said, his face turning red, and looking down at his lap with his hot cocoa.

"Knitting? That's your hobby? Thats adorable! That's awesome! What do you knit?" Gilbert asked. Matthew looked at Gilbert.

"Really? You don't think it's weird?" Gilbert laughed.

"Weird? Why would I think it's weird?"

"I don't know... People usually do." He said, taking another sip of his cocoa.

"Well, I think it's cute." He said, smirking almost. Matthew blushed at this and caught himself staring. Gilbert noticed this too, but he didn't say anything, he just blushed slightly. Matthew looked down at his cup and saw it was beige. He looked up and saw some of the shops on the street were beige.
He saw that there were three shops with beige, blue, and green bricks. He looked at the Christmas lights that were draped a long the trees in a park across the street and gazed at the colors he could see. He saw red, green, and blue. The rest were in black and white. He looked at Gilbert, who was wearing a black shirt with a navy blue coat with jeans and black converse. Gilbert looked a round a bit before turning to face Matthew.

"So, where do you wanna go?"

"Umm... I'm not sure, I dont mind. Anywhere is fine." He said, smiling a little bit.

"Would you want to walk around the park a bit?" He asked.

"Sure!" He said, smiling. They both stood up and walked around the park. They saw the Christmas lights draped on the trees and all the cute Christmas decorations scattered around.

"It's beautiful." Matthew sighed, looking at the lights. He didn't notice Gilbert gazing at him from the side.

"So are you." He said, not realizing it. Matthew stopped and looked back at Gilbert.

"Wh-What was that?" He asked, blushing. Gilbert realized what he said and blushed and put a hand over his mouth.

"U-Uh th-th n-nothing." He muttered. Matthew blushed and looked the other way, he noticed the floor had red and brown bricks.

Brown, another color he saw. He looked at Gilbert again who was now looking around frantically. Matthew smiled a bit and grabbed Gilbert's hand. He intertwined their fingers and sheepishly looked away. Gilbert froze and looked at their hands, then looked at Matthew, who was looking back at him.

"Do... Do you see colors too?" Gilbert asked. If Matthew grabbed his hand, he must like him a little bit, Right?

"Yeah, I do. I can see certain colors. I started seeing them when I met you." He said, stopping right in front of Gilbert. Gilbert smiled.

"The moment I laid eyes on you my whole world became colorful for the first time." He replied, looking into Matthew's eyes.

"The first time?" Matthew asked.

"Yeah, I never knew colors were this beautiful." He said, looking around.

"I never thought I'd see them again." Matthew said, looking around.

"You've seen them before?" Gilbert asked. He was slightly dissapointed, he had hoped Matthew was in his situation.

"Yeah, I have. Same as you, the minute I saw Ivan my world turned to colors." Matthew said, a sad smile on his face. He was looking at the floor.

"Then what happened?"

"He got sick. I was at the grocery store when the world went to black and white."

"Man, that's horrible. I'm so sorry." Gilbert said, regretting the fact he felt jealous. He had no idea Matthew went through such a heartbreak.

"Its okay. Its been about a year. I've finally learned to accept it and try to move on." Matthew said, trying to smile and lighten the mood.

"Do you want to keep walking?" Matthew asked, trying to change the subject. He didn't want to ruin their date by being a downer.

"Why don't we go somewhere to eat?" Gilbert said, looking at the building they stopped in front of. It was a fancy restaurant.

"S-Sure! But maybe somewhere less expensive?" Matthew said, he couldn't afford such an expensive meal.

"Oh, don't worry! It's on me!" Gilbert said, smiling. Matthew felt even worse, he didn't want Gilbert to pay for him especially after dumping such a heavy story on him. He reluctantly followed Gilbert into the resturaunt.
