ii. mouth to mouth

"Put some sun screen on my back, please." I said to my friend, Olivia, handing her the sunscreen bottle.

Olivia put some sun screen on my back and them I laid back on the pool chair putting on my sunglasses. I pulled out one of the summer reading books, teachers really don't give us breaks, and began to read. Olivia decided to sleep instead while she tried to get tan. After five pages I got bored and put the book down. It was way too loud read, there were little kids running everywhere, seeing as we were in a public waterpark. I looked around at all the families and children here, kind of wish they weren't here. My eyes landed on a lifeguard sitting down in one of the lifeguard huts watching over the little kids. I took my sunglasses off to see him better, his eyes met mine and he smiled. I smiled back then put
my sunglasses back on, damn, he was hot.

I pulled my phone out of my bag and started scrolling down my Instagram while Olivia snored next to me. A good half hour went by before I decided to wake Olivia up, "C'mon, let's go into the water."

She groaned and sat up, "Let's go." I put my phone and book back into my bag and stood up. "Wait," She said, "That boy is looking at you, he's so pretty!" Olivia said referring to the lifeguard.

I laughed and said, "It doesn't matter, let's go."

Olivia tried to look at him discreetly but I'm sure he realized. "No," Olivia said, "Go talk to him."

Since I felt cute today, I agreed. Olivia had made two dutch braids in my hair and I was wearing my favorite bathing suit and favorite pair of sunglasses, I figured it was now or never. "Okay," I said, "I'll be right back."

I saw the lifeguard watching me as I walked towards the pool. I walked in and made it next to where his lifeguard hut was. "Hey!" I said looking at him. "Lifeguard, I think I'm drowning, come save me."

The boy started laughing and came down from the hut, "You're in the 3 foot area, you're not drowning, just stand up, babe."

I pouted, "You can't just tell someone they're not drowning. Come save me."

The boy smiled and said, "If I get in trouble because of this... You're going to owe me big time." He came into the pool and picked me up, princess style. "I just saved your life."

"So heroic, if I pretend to drown, will you give me mouth to mouth?" I said cheekily, "I'm Scarlett, by the way."

"I'd give you mouth to mouth even if you weren't drowning." The boy said smirking, "I'm Blake. Now let's get you to safety." Blake carried me, still princess style, out of the pool and then put me down on the cement. "I've got to get back to my stand, but maybe I'll see you later? I get off at six."

"I'll be here," I said smiling, "Thank's for saving my life, Blake."

I walked back to Olivia who had been watching the entire time, "What the fuck was that?" She asked laughing her ass off.

I started laughing like crazy too, "I have no idea, but it felt right." I said, "Listen, I'm going to tell my parents that you're parents are going to take me home, okay? I need to stay here 'til six."

Olivia smirked, "You're such a hoe. I'll make sure your parents don't find out. Now come on, let's get into the water."

Four hours passed by, Olivia and I had gone on all the slides and were honestly exhausted from walking around so much, the park was pretty big. Olivia's parents were waiting outside for her so she went to get changed and the park started to close down. I looked up to see Blake staring at me. "Hey." I said, "What now?"
