NOPE NOPE NOPEDY NOPE NOPE! I screamed in my head. I froze and waited on the stairs realizing that I heard something else. I was sitting on the stairs in the corner. I stood up.

I looked around but saw nothing pecular. I looked out the window realizing I was in the dark and it was night. With no stars in the sky and no light in side I stumbled trying to get up the stairs.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head jolting me up right. I tripped down skipping steps and slidding my foot then I reached my hands back to break my fall. How clumsy am I May! I thought to myself. I got up and knew I had screwed up. My arm was twisted and I couldn't move it.

Once I got into Mirries room I looked for her but she was gone. I flipped the light switch but nothing went on. Why is the power out? I turned on the radio but all that was on was flood warnings. The rain was getting heavier and the clouds thicker. Gusts of wind shook the whole house.

I walked into all the rooms and I found something to wrap my arm and checked down stairs. I looked at my phone finally to call Mirrie when I couldn't find anyone. I called Mirrie but no answer. I called her mom but there was no answer. I even called my mom. It was like I had no connection with anyone.

The water was starting to scare me after an hour. It was inching up the sides of the house threatening to poor in. I suddenly heard on the radio GET TO SAFETY! DO NOT STAY IN YOUR HOUSE! FIND A BUNKER OR A SAFE HOUSE AND LOCK UP! Is this seriously happening? Where is everybody? They wouldn't have left me.

I went into the bathroom in front of the Mirror and shown light from my phone and candles that I had lit. I saw dark red thick blood streaks all down my face. The back of my head had a huge gash. That explains the headaches.

What happened? I had a huge bruse on my back. I must have fallen down the stairs. Okay I have to leave. I can't stay here. I tried calling Mirrie again while I rappidly looked for a first aid kit.

Hello? Is that you May?! Yeah where are you? Im very hurt and a little scared. I thought you were dead! I found you fallen on the stairs in a puddle of your own blood! I sat you up but I thought you were gone. What? Where are you guys? Im still in your house and its very dark. the rain is flooding. We left to the prison. Its the towns safe house. Everyone is here and your all alone. I have been so scared. I miss you. How long has it been? Six days. Oh wow. How am I supposed to get to the prison?

Hello? Oh my goodness baby! Are you okay? It was my mom. Mirrie told me you were dead and I just got so scared. We will come and get you okay don't worrie.

Mom calm down. Im fine. Hey its Mirrie again. They said they can't get you. Its too flooded back by the houses. You would have to go all the way to the prison on foot. We can get you as far as the off pass dirt road to the prison. We can't go onto any streets or roads.

That trip would take me hours! I know. I will come get you but I have to sneek out. Okay can you meet me at the high school? Yes. I will leave in an hour. It will take me 3 hours to get there. It will take me 1 hour so I will leave in a couple hours. Okay. Are you sure you want to sneek out to come and get me in these conditions.

Yes. Okay but please call me before you leave, I will be on the phone with you the whole way just in case something happens and you get hurt. Yeah, okay I will call you in an hour. Get prepared. Bring more food just in case. Also pack close from my closet.

Okay. Okay! See you soon! I will be ready. Just call. We hung up and I tried for water but there was nothing. I opened a can of beans and ate them uncooked. I stunk because nothing worked so I couldn't shower.

I started to pack. It was a lot harder than usual because not much light came from candles and flash lights. plus I only had one good arm. At least it was my left arm that was messed up because my right is my good arm.

I wrapped my waist because of the huge bruse over my ribs and the struggle to move. It was almost time.
