After my practice I did my best to ignore Nessa, she stared at me the whole time making most of my team mates tease me. Especially Melissa, she was one of the older ones of the team, the co-captain. Great skill of course, she giggled at my expense.
"Don't patronize me." I'd said to her multiple times. She mimicked me as she took slap shots during our practice.
I was sweaty as I walked out of the change rooms. A shower was in need when I got home. As soon as I looked up lugging my huge bag along with me, I saw her.
Walking up to me quickly she had something in her hands.
"Hey Skylah I was wondering if you wanted some cocoa, I made it hoping to give it to you before your practice but I was a little late. I hope you'll accept it now. It would have cooled down by now a bit too." Coming closer to me with a large thermos I tried my best to be interested. I wasn't sure if my mom would be waiting for me.
Taking it in my cold hands I was relieved that it wasn't cold. Opening the lid I looked at her. "You ain't poison it or nothing did you? Drug it?"
Her eyes went wide. "Of course not!" I smirked and gulped some down.
"You know no one ever really ever comes to watch our practices. It was peculiar to see you sitting there." I looked down at her taking another drink.
"I saw that, I hope you don't mind. I was on my phone most of the time."
"Taking videos of my practicing hey? Didn't think you were the stalker type."
"Oh my goodness, no!" She smacked my arm as I laughed, "I was listening to music."
"Sure that's what they all say." I rolled my eyes laughing. My team mates began filing out of the locker room. Smelling more clean than I was.
"Skylah I've been waiting for you!" I turned around like a deer caught in headlights, to see my mom by the door, hands on her hips in a signature pose.
"Sorry mom." I looked back at Nessa.
"Sorry chickie I have to go, really nice of you to bring me a drink." I handed her her thermos and picked up my bag.
"I'll see you later Skylah." She called after me.
Waving my free arm, I walked out into the cold atmosphere.
"I've been out here waiting, we have food in the oven at home I texted you." My mom lectured me as I put my bag in the back of her vehicle.
Taking my phone from my pocket I saw her texts.
When we got home I found myself in the shower ridding my body of my sweat. I was relaxing, taking every bit of time I could.
Finishing up, I rummaged through my closet to find some comfortable clothes. The cold temperature outside would take some adjusting to. Pulling on a jumper I walked out to greet my mom before dinner.
'Bang''Bang' I looked at my mom in a scare. Holding my hand over my heart I I made my way, startled towards the door.
"Hullo" I opened my door up in surprise.
There in front of me was my elder neighbor Patricia gripping onto Nessa's arm.
"This girl has been pacing loudly outside of your door for the last ten minutes." I frowned.
"I'm sorry Patricia, she can come in. I apologize for the disturbance." Pulling Nessa into my home I closed the door with an apologetic smile.
"What are you doing here." I turned around and whisper yelled at her.
