Tortured

I awoke in a dark damp room. Around me water droplets repetitively fell colliding with the cold stone floor. Where was I? My head throbbed and my vision was blurred, the only thing I could think of was pain. Pain everywhere in every crevice of my body I felt pain, with every movement I felt pain. Shakily I stood to my feet but instantly collapsed.

Cool metal restrains were placed around my hips, on my ankles and around my hands. I was well aware of why I was here, I just couldn't remember how I got here. As my eyes slowly adjusted to the dark what I saw mortified me. I wasn't in a room, it was more like an underground cavern. Chains hung all around me and from the ceiling several small cages hung too. It was a torture cave. I felt drained and weak.

My naturally heightened senses were gone and my throat was burning with thirst. I craved blood. How long have I been out? The more time a vampire went without feeding the stronger they became, however if a vampire went without feeding for too long they would enter a blood frenzy. This is where they become delirious and can wipe out entire human cities they're strength and blood thirst is unparalleled, mortals wouldn't stand a chance. Is this what Darius wanted to happen to me? I would die first. As I'm half witch I cannot survive without sufficient amounts of blood, because witches are living beings, he is slowly starving me to death without blood I would surely rot. I struggled in my chains. Surely I could still break them. I wasn't that weak. Was I? Unless they were silver. I looked down focusing on them but I had nothing I slumped down. Willing myself to sleep.

Time passed, I wasn't sure how much or how long though all I knew is that the sun rose and fell multiple times. My limbs were starting to seize up and burn as blood couldn't reach them I slowly felt my life magic seep out of my body. I tried to focus on the air around me but this cavern had no life. This cavern was filled with death. Blood coated the walls and dripped with the water as one from the ceiling.

The sun rose and fell more but I lost count. It may not have been that long 5 days or so but it could have much longer weeks, months. As time passed my thoughts blurred but always went back to one thing. Blood.

Some one had entered the cavern. Guinevere. She looked cautious unsure of how to act around me. When we locked eyes I hissed.

"Guinevere, not scared? Tell me why I shouldn't kill you now. How would you like to go, I've got many ways." I spoke in a harsh whisper.

"I don't want to fight you Xanthe. Darius is wrong. I know what happened, you were right to stop it. Here." She chucked a blood bag at my feet and vanished from the way she came.

I studied the bag at my feet taking all my restraint not to consume it all. I was unsure of wether it would be poisoned or be laced with sedatives. After taking in its strong scent and being throughly sure it was safe I took a few drops of blood from it. The small amount I had consumed gave my body strength. The blood tingled on my tongue as it slipped down my throat. It took all my restraint not to drain it dry. Instead i would have a few drops every time I was close to rotting.

Guinevere had saved my life. I was indebted to her. I would never forget this.
