Walking into the room Darius led me to I really hoped this was the right place otherwise I would be completely lost. Thankfully it was and I was met by two grey haired blue eyed identical witches.

"Oh!" The first one exclaimed. "This one is beautiful, such posture, and my those eyes I haven't seen anything like that in all my years. Silver hair too oh Clarabelle I like this one already." She said as her blue eyes raked over my appearance.

"Yes but her aura, that power. This one has several gifts. She is powerful in every aspect I have never heard anyone speak to the King that way Francesca. The rumours are true beauty and power."

"Now darling come here we need to measure you." Clarabelle announced pulling out a measuring tape and several utensils.

After two hours of being pulled and limbs moved in different directions being weighed and measured my uncomfortable ordeal was over.

"Now darling just tell us the colour and we'll do all the rest." Francesca said as Clarabelle was sketching various designs.

"Gold." I spoke without hesitation.

"Oh that colour is only for royals dear and even then it isn't commonly worn. Would you pick another?" Francesca asked.

"No don't pick another, Francesca this girl is going places she's already made a name for herself why not make an even bigger statement than she already has. Clarabelle spoke without looking away from her drawing.

"Is it worth it though, the King will not be happy." Francesca asked hesitantly.

"Don't worry about him, I'll take care of that." I said causing Francesca to become more sure.

"Fine we shall create the finest golden dress there has ever been. You will look every part a queen." Francesca decided with a determined expression.

"Good, now leave us we have we have a dress to make." They spoke. As I left I saw gold threads appearing from thin air as the twins chanted in unison they're eyes clouding becoming unsettled.

The room I had been in with the dressmakers was in a part of the palace I had never seen before. Instead of calling out for help I decided to explore. As I ventured through the magnificent wing I stumbled upon a large expansive library with shelves that climbed to unseeable heights lined with books. There was a section of grimoires that radiated magic and power. The energy they emitted hung heavily in the air making the usual buzz of magic turn to a loud ringing in my ears. I walked further through the library and noticed how there was a thick layer of dust many cobwebs covering everything in site, this library has been untouched for many years.

Allowing my body to move on its own accord I reached a spiral staircase that I slowly stepped down unable to keep my curiosity at bay. At the bottom of staircase faint whispers briefly caught my ears however the words were inaudible. There was a dark hallway laid out before me a single small table decorated the otherwise barren corridor. On the table was a flickering lantern offering the only source light for my eyes. The darkness that surrounded me was unlike anything I had ever seen before. As a vampire I could see in the night and as a witch I could walk in the day however this darkness was thick and heavy enveloping me in a tempting yet disturbing shadow. Realising there was something off with the darkness I began to rush toward the light but I didn't seem to move, the distance between the lantern and myself remained the same, just out of reach. As the darkness seeped into my body I felt it begin to corrupt my thoughts and reshape my emotions. Unexplained anger coursed through me as I kept trying and failing at reaching the light infuriating me even further. There was no use of fighting against the darkness physically so I stopped and breathed it in deeply. More anger filled  thoughts settled in my head making it difficult to distinguish which of my memories were fact and which were fiction. Was this what it felt like when I used my emotion control on people? I slowly started to reject the anger refusing it to corrupt my most precious memories refusing it to touch my few memories of the family I had once lost. I felt my clouded hate filled memories seep away from me, opening my eyes a dark red mist exited my body in thick tendrils, hissing when coming in contact with the vast blackness. The flickering lantern slowly faded, instead the light encircled me further keeping the black shadows at bay.  I continued down the hall.
