Kiss and make up

A strong fist rapidly moved forward towards my face. The magic that coursed through my veins paired with my heightened reflexes and senses made the speed that it moved seem slow and weak. I reached out towards it wrapping my hand around his strongly clasped fist. As this happened I applied vast amounts of pressure feeling a satisfying crunch in my grasp. Surprise filled his gaze before dark streaks of crimson came to the front of his coffee coloured eyes. Anger. Following this I twisted my hand putting Alrics arm in an unnatural position and pulled him towards me before slamming my foot into his chest causing Alric to fly across the room and into a white marble pillar followed by a smash of bones and marble.

Sprinting toward where Alric lay a marble slab was flung in my direction. Effortlessly I pivoted to the side and threw myself upwards, flipping high above it. However, much to my surprise I was hit with another much bigger slab forcefully stopping me in my tracks. My body plummeted to the hard obsidian flooring as shards of marble and white dust collected around my body. With a heavy thud my back collided to the floor; Alric clearly saw this as an opportunity rushing forward and lunging mid air towards me. Fool. At the last second I hastily rolled away from his impending attack causing him to land straight into the floor on his already injured wrist.

Alric jumped up enraged that I had dodged his attack. We slowly circled each other. When will he shift? I wondered to myself. Alric charged towards me and I towards him. At the last second I jumped above him smashing my heel down into his head using it as a way to propel me further upwards. A growl sounded below me.

"Enough playing." Alric spoke menacingly.

He launched his body upwards toward me. In the air his bones dislodged and crunched, bending into various position. His eyes glowed a faint yellow as his pupils thinned into animalistic slits. Within seconds a humongous muscular black wolf was in his place baring its canines at me. I was no longer moving through the air at high speeds and Alric was gaining on me.

I felt an intense pain encircle my ankle as my body was flung like a lifeless rag-doll. My body hurtled through the air at an incredible speed before by back collided with a ruby encrusted wall; however this didn't completely stop me as I sailed through it and into another room. I skidded along the floor before coming to a slow stop. My body didn't feel particularly bad from what I had gone through yet my ankle ached but he hadn't pierced my skin, the chain mail made sure of that. A loud victorious howl sounded in my ears. Could I really beat Alric? He was an ancient werewolf who had fought at the Kings side for hundreds of years.

My mothers words from 152 years ago echoed in my head. Never give up promise me, never lose faith promise me.

"I promise Mama." I spoke in a determined whisper.

All pain and doubt that had briefly clouded my head left before it could settle. Alric won't win. Alric can't win. I thought. I felt new reinvigorated strength in my body. I was going to be a countess, not a simple plaything to please The King.

I jumped to my feet and sped to where I had flown through a few moments before. Without hesitation I kicked through the wall. Shocked faces watched me march up to the large menacing wolf. I could feel anger and power radiate from me nobles in close proximity slowly backed away and so they should. Alric lunged toward me with his canines bared yet again. I launched myself towards him spinning in the air with my arms pressed tightly against my chest and my body stiffly elongated. The momentum I was traveling at was simply too much for the 'champion'. The wolf crashed to the opposite side of the hall but I was not done with him.

"You will not beat me!" I yelled using my speed to where he lay, Alrics gigantic form struggled to get up. I dragged the wolf by its tail before flinging it to the other side of the hall as if he were a small animal and not a 200 kilo wolf the size of a large horse.
