"Ah, Tasha? Are you in here?"
I yawn slightly, stretching my limbs away until they pop. "Mom, yes. I'm here." I stand up and open my door. Mom is in front of me, her eyes curve into a couple crescents and her lips curl into a smile. I tilt my head and scrunch my brows when I see mom's outfit.
"Where are we going?"
She wears a sleeved paisley dress that reached her skinny knees and a pair of brown Birkenstock at her feet, her house sandals; her natural toenails (they're toenails too, right?) flicker prettily. Her hair is gathered into a loose chignon on the base of her neck.
"I will pick your outfit for you," she sings, pushing me into my bedroom and onto the bed. I burrow my brows and raise a palm to cup my cheek, pressing onto my non-baby fat cheek, "So, what's with this occasion?"
Mom hums while barging through my dresser, throwing a red and blue patterned dress with a touch of retro on its sleeves and a pair of black-sheer stockings. She cups my cheeks and smooches a kiss onto one of them, "A friend of mine, closest friend, invites me to a dinner. She said that her son is attending, so I have to bring you too."
"Now," she fetches my towel, handing it to me. "Take a shower, honey!"
