the big day of taehyung's dance competition inched closer. before he knew it, him and his team were standing behind the thick curtain that separated them from the crowd.

taehyung peaked around the barrier and spotted hyunae sitting in the front seat he had saved especially for her. he noticed that she made a cardboard cutout of an extremely embarrassing face he sent to her over snapchat.

"are you guys ready?" taehyung heard hoseok's voice call out. the rest of the group: jimin, jungkook, and yoongi hurriedly made their way over to the choreographer. "we have been practicing this number for months, and i know we have it down solid." he took in a deep breath, "just go out there and show those judges the best time of your damn lives!"

the announcer's voice called out taehyung's group and the crowd went wild.

their dance went really went, perfect, if taehyung was being honest. once his group was pushed off the stage, taehyung noticed that hyunae was already waiting backstage for him. 

he ran over and embraced her, picking her up and spinning her around for extra measures.

"yah, taehyung, you're really sweaty! put me down please!" she giggled before he set her down gently.

"how did you get back here?" he asked her happily. hyunae pointed over towards hoseok who was smiling at the lovely couple.

"hoseok told the guard that i was a special guest. i came back here right before your dance ended so i could surprise you!" hyunae looked around taehyung towards his group members, "also, you guys did amazing out there--the crowd loved every second of it!"

"thanks hyunae--it really means a lot!" hoseok beamed, "but we will leave you guys to it..." he slipped away while pushing the rest of his members along.

taehyung chuckled before turning back toward hyunae. "what is that you have?" he asked while poking at her sides. she giggled before handing over the hideous picture of taehyung's face. "yah!" he said in between laughs, "i never should have sent you this--and i should have known something was going to happen once you screenshotted it!"

"the picture is cute!" hyunae added a little aegyo at the end and taehyung couldn't resist pinching her cheeks, "turn it around."

taehyung did as he was told and couldn't help but giggle at the corny joke his girlfriend had written on the back.

"yah, you sure are lucky that you're cute!" taehyung said as he playfully pushed her head back.

"but you laughed!" she smiled, "it's a funny joke!"

before taehyung could respond, hoseok called out to taehyung that the judges were announcing the results.

in the end hoseok's team got 2nd place overall. however, even though they didn't get first, the team was still proud of how far each and every one of them came.

taehyung was especially proud, of not only how far his team had come, but also how he managed to pass chemistry and get an amazing girl like park hyunae.
