Hermione's POV:
"Welcome, to the 74th annual Hunger Games reaping" Effie announces to District 12.
The girls are on one side the boys on the other in guessing by the sizes, age order. I just hope it's not my sister chosen, they can't see me. Effie shows the District the video Voldermort showed us. Then fingered the bowls with girls names in.
"Ladies first" She smiles digging her hand in. She rummages it around then stops on one pieces of paper. Smiling she pulls it out and strokes it. She slowly unfolds it and gives a small cough "Primrose Everdeen"
No! Not my little sister, no. Prim makes her way through the crowd, scared to death. The was a small squeak from the crowd but I couldn't make it out. "PRIM" This time it was louder. That's my twins voice I know it. Just as I guess Katniss pushes through the crowd yelling Prims name. The guards hold her back but she yells.
"I volunteer, I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!" She screams.
The guards release her and Prim runs to hug her. Katniss hugs back for a second then she puts her down. Prim begins to cry and scream for Katniss but a strong, good looking boy takes her and leads her to, mum? Oh god! No this is to hard to watch. Katniss. My twin in the games, to save my little sister. She's no different, do anything for Prim, she looks different.Oh Katniss. She walks up the stairs and onto the stage looking petrified.
"We have a volunteer, name?" Effie asks smugly.
"Katniss Everdeen" Katniss answered shakily.
"Well... I bet my buttons that was your sister" She smiles "round of applause for our tribute"
No one claps instead they take there three middle fingers of the left and and bring them to there lips, then to Katniss. The District 12 symbol. Respect. Oh god! Effie smiles and put her hand in the boys bowl.
"Gentlemen.." She picks out the first paper she sets a finger on and pulls it out.
"Peeta Mellark"
A boy about Katniss' age steps forward, frighten and worried. He makes his way up the stage.
"Any Volunters?" Effie asked.
Who is she kidding, no one ever volunteers in District 12, does she think people will follow in Katniss footsteps, I think not.
The two look at each other and shake hands, there something there, they know each other. Oh god.. Katniss.
