Chapter 1~Catch ya up to speed

I am nervous. If you know me then you would know that that is not an emotion I experience often. If you don't know me then well, I'm sorry your life has been such a bore. My name is Maximum Ride, yes the Maximum Ride. If that name doesn't ring a bell then I don't know where you've been. I mean I'm only the world's favorite flying mutant girl. Did I mention that I'm also the queen well, I suppose I'm more the president of the entire world. No biggie. If you do know me then there's a few things I need to catch you up on. Lets see, It's been about 5 years since you saw me last. After the sky pretty much exploded...long story. Anyway, a lot has happened since then. Angel is 12 years old and surprisingly she hasn't really gained anymore creepy powers. Except that she is starting to develop a very strong memory and I mean you could tell her the date and she would be able to remember exactly what you wore. If that's not creepy to you I seriously want you to stop reading now and tell me what is. Gazzy hasn't really changed much either. He's 14 now but still as immature as ever. Nudge is 17 and is still a major motor mouth. Yes I know the question your all asking. Nudge does have a boyfriend. She's had four actually, three with out me knowing. Long story. But this one seems to be slightly better then the rest, no tattoos or piercings and trustworthy enough. His name is Cliff and he's part eagle with wings that are a bit too small for his tall body. Somehow he's probably still the strongest flyer I know, behind myself and Fang of course. Total and Akila had a few pups about a month ago. There strange little things, if you can picture a mix between a black Scottish Terrier and a white Alaskan Malamute. There also very mischievous, if you know what I mean.

Ok, so Iggy is 20 now and is still madly in love with my half sister, Ella. Oh and good news! Jeb has been spending all these years trying to come up with a cure to Iggy's blindness, since he partly felt responsible for it. Yes, Jeb has slowly been improving. So much so that if you asked me, I may just say I trust him. Maybe. Also, I'm pretty sure there's something going on between him and my mom, Dr. Martinez. Anyway, Iggy can see but, he is completely color blind and sometimes he hallucinates, like really hallucinates....So still a big improvement! He was so excited to see Ella that he was crying up a storm. When Ella, with tears in her eyes asked what was wrong Iggy responded with, "All these years I've know you were pretty but now that I see your face I know I was far from the truth. You are beautiful and suddenly I feel very bad for my old blind self. Because I couldn't see your face." I think that was the most "grown up" statement Iggy has ever said. After he said those words know one could stop themselves. Ella was on top of him in a heart beat giving him a well deserved bear hug. Fang was holding me close and I was-wasn't crying. What? I wasn't. I think... Anyway, Nudge was crying, clinging to Cliff like a child to his floaty. Gazzy was the only one not crying. Instead he was laughing like a manic, but I could see the tears forming in his big, innocent eyes. Angel was sniffling, holding Total in her arms who kept quoting Shakespeare. Things about true love and happiness. Cheesy like always. There was just so much joy! A little too much perhaps. It was a special moment for Iggy, getting his sight back and all.

I guess it's time to talk about some more, serious things. Dylan, well lets just say I'm pretty sure he's still in love with me and not just because of my abundant beauty and charm. He was programmed that way, so I secretly asked Jeb to change that. That's not a selfish thing to do is it? I mean the poor guy was engineered to love me forever and if he can't get over it he won't be able to live a life of his own. He respects my choices and isn't bitter to Fang, I wouldn't really call them friends but at least they're past the point of killing each other. Hopefully he can find a girl to love him. Some day.

Ok, I've stalled long enough. Me and Fang, Fang and me. Over these years me and Fang have been well, seeing a lot of each other. It was only a few weeks ago when Fang did something that I think I was expecting, yeah somewhere deep inside my heart I knew this time would come and now I get tell you about it. Oh joy.
