28th of December, 2 days until the Skyland Battle
Lenore's POV
"According to some of books written by the ancient omen bearers, an omen bearer has a chance to summon a celestial if they perform difficult tasks that relate to their omen!" Nessie explained to me. Nessie, Saki, Brynnie, Andrew, Tadaaki, and I were all standing in one of the underground's various training room. Everyone was dressed winter causal wear, having only learning military tactics with the Commanders today.
"So what do I have to do?" I yawned. Ever since I got the news that Abi was now a mindslave to the Council, I could hardly get a wink of sleep last night. When I did, I had a horrible nightmare about fighting Abi at the Skyland Battle.
"Well I was thinking you could try to necromance one of the past Nakhanshan!" Nessie suggested to me.
"That would be smart," added Tadaaki. He won't talk as much, ever since arriving in the Underground with Brynnie and Andrew. I think he's hurting and won't let anyone conform him about Abi.
"Maybe-a one of-a the-a last Nakhanshan-a? The ones-a that were-a before us-a," suggested Brynnie with a smile. She changed a bit too, but just appearance-wise. Her short curly hair was a bit long with her bangs held back with a few barrettes. Also Brynnie's skin was a bit paler, due to the lack of real sunlight in the Underground.
"Here's the files we have on the last Nakhanshan," stated Saki before handing the files to Andrew. Out of the three, Andrew was the one who changed the most. His hair was straightened, so he looked like a tan version of the Youtuber Dan Howell. He was a bit more muscular from training.
"By the way, how's the time plan going?" I asked Saki and Brynnie. The two of them and the Leaders were planning to use omeo to create a time loop or time travel backwards in order to buy more time. Saki sighed and answered, "I don't know. Brynnella's omeo magic might not been enough to send a whole country into a time loop..."
"What about my omeo and Tadaaki's? With the rest of the omen bearers in the Underground?" I asked. Saki's eyes widened a bit and said, "That might work, Nessie, give us some math!"
Nessie walked up to the training room's whiteboard and grabbed a dry erase marker. She quickly did some math and soon the whiteboard was filled with calculations. Nessie turned back around and said, "There's a 47.3 percent chance of success."
"I guess we'll have to take those odds. I'm gonna talk to the Leaders," said Saki. She got up and walked out of the training room, leaving just the five of us. It would of been more lively if Abi was here. God, I missed Abi.
"I found the perfect person to necromance!" Andrew exclaimed. Nessie, Tadaaki, Brynnie, and I turned to face Andrew. He then placed an opened file between the five of us. It was the file on Elizabeth Mata, my grandmother.
"Well since the last Nakhanshan were our grandparents and Lenore's grandma was the former omen bearer of the raven, Elizabeth Mata is our best bet!" Andrew explained to us. Smart, very smart of him to think of that. Nessie nodded and said to me, "Well since we have a candidate, I'll explain how to necromance to you."
"Okey...dokey," I yawned out my answer. Nessie then beckoned me up and I got up. She led me to the center of the room and shooed Brynnie, Andrew, and Tadaaki out of the room. Brynnie and Andrew gave me reassuring smiles while Tadaaki gave me no emotion. Once the three of them were out of the room, Nessie began giving me instructions.
"An omen bearer can necromance if and only if their omen is related with death or life," stated Nessie.
"So Abi also has that ability since she's the omen bearer of the snake?" I asked sadly. Nessie hesitated for a moment before nodding solemnly. I sighed to myself and changed the subject, "So what's the next step?"
"Channel your omeo," answered Nessie. I nodded and clasped my hands together. Remembering what Andrew's sister, Bo, taught me about omeo channeling, I focused on someone dying. Abi laying dead on the ground with the head councilman standing over her dead body with a twisted smile, blood-soaked clothing, and a knife with Abi's blood on it.
"Good," stated Nessie, as she looked at my hands. I formed a small ball of purple light in my hands. Nessie then said, "Now chant the following three times. Verakendananal urvakany Elizabeth Mata."
"Verakendananal urvakany Elizabeth Mata. Verakendananal urvakany...Elizabeth Mata. Verakendananal urvakany...Elizabeth Mata," I chanted softly. I felt the omeo in my hands grow colder and colder by the minute. Then Nessie said to me, "Release your omeo after I leave the room. Once you do, wait a moment before leaving. I'll be in the mess hall of you need me."
"Okay," I replied. Nessie quickly sprinted out of the room and closed the door behind her. Once I was positive Nessie left, I released my omeo. Purple light engulfed the room as the temperature dropped to the negatives. The light then disappeared and the room was back to normal. Nothing happened.
"Dammit..." I mumbled to myself. I then walked up to the door and left the room to go to the mess hall. What I didn't know was the purple light reappeared in the room and began forming the shadow of a human being.
