Lenore's POV

     I waited impatiently for either Saki or Nessie to tell me the truth. Tadaaki stood there quietly and shot me a confused look. After a few moments of silence, he spoke up and stated, "She asked you two a question, don't you have the curtsey to answer it?"

      "Okay...I'll tell you," stated Nessie with a soft whisper. Tadaaki and I looked at the mechanic while Saki gave her a solemnly look. Nessie then began to explain.

      "The past Nakhanshan were devoured by the Head Councilman, which is how he's able to be somewhat of an immortal. After being devoured, the marks your grandparents had became part of Remuer and he used them to create biological weapons, chimeras. That's why the omen marks of the corn snake, the leopard, and the stag haven't been passed down," explained Nessie.

      "Let me guess. The leopard was Brynnie's grandparent, the stag was Andrew's grandparent, and the corn snake was one of Abi's and I's grandparents?" Tadaaki said, unamused. I realized that he didn't know about the files.

      "Correct. Brynnie's grandma, Catrina, was the omen bearer of the leopard. Andrew's grandpa, Nowin, was the omen bearer of the stag. Tadaaki, your grandpa was the omen bearer of the corn snake," stated Saki, still calm and collected.

     "Wait...what about my grandma? Was she an omen bearer?" Tadaaki asked in a confused tone. Nessie then piped up, "She was an enonno and also part of the ninety ninth Nakhanshan!"

      "Wait...that makes us the one hundredth?" I asked.

     "Yes, the most powerful. You all have the ability to end this cycle," answered Saki with a hopeful gleam in her dark eyes. That would make sense, thinking about the Skyland Prophecy.  

       "I'm so confused! How would our parents even exist if our grandparents were devoured?!" Tadaaki yelled, finally being pushed over the edge. I then piped up, "They froze embryos."

       Tadaaki stared at me with confusion and waited for an explanation. I then added from what little knowledge Grandmother Elizabeth left in her diaries, "My great aunt on my grandmother's side, I think her name was Delia...was the surrogate mother for my grandparents. The same happened for Brynnie. I believe it was a great aunt on her grandmother's side, by the name of Rosa, was the surrogate for her grandparents."

      "What about Andrew's grandparents? How do you know all of this?" Tadaaki asked with sudden interest. I then answered, "A normal pregnancy. I know about all of this...because...because of my grandmother's diaries."

      "Your grandma left you her diaries? How? And what about Abi's and I's family" Tadaaki asked confusedly. My heart stopped for a moment when the name, 'Abi,' rang through my ears. My poor snake girl. Why? Why couldn't it been me?! Snap out of it, Lenore! You're gonna save her! You're gonna save your friends and family and Omeo City and the world.

      "Lenore? You there?" I heard Tadaaki ask me with concern, causing me to snap out of my thoughts. I looked up at him, his face full of worry. I noticed that my cheeks were wet and touched my face. Tears, it was tears. I was crying.

     "You were thinking about Abi, weren't you?" Tadaaki whispered, a lone tear rolled down his left cheek. I solemnly nodded, holding back my tears. Tadaaki was silent for moment until he embraced me in a tight hug. I hugged him back and I let my tears flow out. He held me close, like a big brother cradling his baby sister. I realized that Tadaaki matured a bit, he wasn't arrogant like I first met him. He wasn't as controlled by his feelings, like when he discovered my relationship with Abi.

      "We're gonna save her," I cried out in a soft voice. Tadaaki whispered back, hoarse from crying, "I know we will. You, me, Andrew, and Brynnie. We're gonna get Abi back."
