(Cas' perspective)

They made their way down the stairs, silently. Dean coughed and Cas looked up to see him walking beside him. The turned into the dining room and sat down next to each other. Mr and Mrs.Winchester were already sat facing each other at each end of the dinner table. Sam skipped over and sat across from Cas. They passed around the food and put it on their plates. Cas went to grab his fork and brushed hands with Dean. He tensed up and drew his hand inwards. He started eating his meal deep in thought, when he heard his name being called. He looked up, "sorry?"

"I asked if you had a girlfriend," said Sam, his mouth full. Cas coughed and shook his head.

"Definitely not," he took a sip of water and busied himself by taking a bite of food.

"Yeah, Cas and I are single as can be, right?" Dean said, shouldering Cas. Cas nodded and continued eating.

"Wait what? What about you and Lisa?" Sam asked, stabbing a piece of food.

"Broke up," Dean said absentmindedly. Sam nodded and got back to eating. They finished up eating and brought their plates into the sink, where Mary and John cleaned them.

Dean jabbed Cas lightly in his side, and nodded his head towards the stairs. They slowly, and awkwardly, made their way up to Dean's room, where they proceeded to sit on Deans bed and try not to make eye contact with one another. Dean was picking at the skin on his thumb when Castiel abrubptly cleared his throat, causing the other boy to jolt upwards. Dean slowly turned and faced Cas, look up at him, as he was slouching slightly.

"Dean, about earlier-," Cas started, when Dean cut him off.

"Look man, about that, I'm really sorry, it didn't mean anything. I don't even know why I did it. Just screwing around I guess," Dean said, chuckling and rubbing the back of his neck, looking around awkwardly.

"Ha... Yeah, its okay, Dean," Cas said, but he couldn't help but feel a prickle of disappointment. Well more than a prickle, it felt like his heart was being weighed down by an immense sadness. 'Why do I feel like this?' he thought. 'But... it didn't mean anything to him? Just... screwing around?' Did he have feelings for Dean? No, of course not, he was straight.

(Dean's perspective)

'Did it mean something to me..? No.. Maybe? I don't know,' Dean thought, contemplating the possibility that it may have meant something to him. Cas shuffled awkwardly on Deans bed, making look up at him. "Um, do you wanna go do something?" Dean asked, looking anywhere but at Castiel.

"Well," Cas said, looking down at his watch, "I actually think it may be time for me to head home, my mom told me not to stay out too late."

Dean looked down and hunched his shoulders forward. He looked up and put a smile on his face, "well, I could give you a ride home if you want?"

"Um, sure... I mean yes, that would be great!" Castiel said, smiling brightly, his eyes gleaming.

Dean's face flushed red and he looked away, coughing, "just give me a minute to get all my stuff together." Cas nodded quickly and brought his legs up so he was cross-legged.

"Hey Dean, do you think you'd maybe wanna go see a movie with me? There's a new horror movie that just came out and it looks good," Cas said, looking hopeful.

"Sure man, but, just so you know, the nearest theatre is in the town over, so it'll be a bit of a drive," Dean looked up from lacing up his shoes.

"That's fine, how about we go on Friday after school? There's probably a show around 7 that we could catch."
