You wake up the next morning stretching, yawning and peering over when you see Law sitting at your desk, reading through one of your unfinished works. You sit up swiftly starting to blush. "Uh.."

"You're a good writer... It's a shame you haven't finished them." He hums quietly. His silver gaze slides over to you. "Sorry if I crossed a line, I couldn't help myself." He adds, offering a smirk. Before you can respond you hear Kid's boots approaching your room. You pale and Law calmly slips under your bed as the door knob jiggles.

"Hey cuz, you up?" Kid asks. You take a deep breath and unlock the door, opening it.

"Just woke up... What's up?" You inquire with a slight yawn.

"I made breakfast, gonna head to work now so I'll see you later cousin." He pats your shoulder and pauses looking at the shirt you wore.

"What?" You ask carefully.

"I think Law has a shirt like that... Whatever, I'm out." He waves heading out. You watch him go and smile a bit before looking back as Law comes out from under the bed.

"You wanna stay for breakfast?" You ask carefully.

"That sounds nice, then we will go check on your friend." He smiles straightening up. He looks over your books again.

"I... Lost inspiration when my parents disappeared. I had many more..." You follow his gaze, rubbing your cheek.

"I'm sure it will return." He touches your shoulder, offering a smile. "Shall we eat?"

"Yeah, let's go eat." You smile leading him downstairs. Surprisingly, breakfast looked good.

"I'm honestly amazed..." Law mutters as you make his and your plate.

"He's actually a good chef, but he doesn't often cook." You tell him, handing him his plate before sitting down with yours and starting to eat.

"Heh, feels odd eating here." He starts to peer around curiously.

"I bet, you two are enemies." You giggle thoughtfully.

"Not going to ask why we're enemies?" He inquires with a head tilt.

"Nah, I'm sure it's a macho type of thing, and my cousin isn't very good at making friends." You shrug with a slight smile. "I was never good at making friends either, maybe that's why we got along so much better than our other cousins."

"I don't believe you, you're much easier to approach than him." He comments.

"You didn't know me before Law." You remind him as you finish eating. He hums thoughtfully, watching you before he finishes eating. He helps you clean up the dishes before you both head out, walking for Killer's place.

"Hopefully, he's still groggy and injured after last night." He says.

"And if not?" You ask carefully. He meets your gaze.

"He'll be one of them come night fall." He admits. A motorcycle catches your ear, you look over and freeze as Killer rides up.

"Hey pretty girl, you know your cousin would flip if he found you hanging out with Law." He rumbles sounding chipper. You and Law share a glance.

"Hey, I was just coming to see you and ran into Law." You smile.

"Oh? Well, what happened last night? I woke up in bandages but nothings hurt." He rubs his neck.

"I can't remember... I think we got into a fight with some one." You lie with a shrug.

"Oh, you're not hurt right? Your cousin will kill me." He comments.

"Nope." You lie again, giving him a smile.

"Good, I was worried for a moment. I would've kicked my own ass if you got hurt around me." He touches your cheeks. His fingers felt cold, making you pull back on impulse. He pauses at that, eyes seeming a bit sad at the motion.

"Sorry, your hands are cold, are you sure you're feeling okay?" You ask, touching his arm as your other hand feels his forehead. "You're so cold..."

"Am I?" He compares his skin to yours. "No, if anything you feel like you have a fever from hell, we should get you to a doctor-"

"I'll take care of her, I am training to be a doctor." Law informs him.

"I don't know... Alright, but if Kid catches you I had no idea about it." Killer gives him a stern glare. "And treat her with respect, she's a Fucking princess." He adds before turning on his motorcycle and riding off. Law raises an eyebrow at the last part, peering at you, but you seem confused.

"I'm not running a fever.... Am I?" You question quietly. Law checks your temperature.

"No. Which means come tonight, he'll become one of them." He informs you. You felt your heart sink.

"Is... Isn't there a way to stop it Law?... He's a good guy and my cousin's best friend." You turn to him worried.

"Not that I know of... I'm sorry ___. But once he turns he will be as rabid as them, not recognizing any of his friends... I'll.... I'll have to put him down." He frowns somberly, watching you search his face, the little glimmer of hope dies from your eyes.

"But... That's so wrong... Killer... Kid..." You sink to your knees, hand over your face. There had to be another way. There just had to be...

Law's hand on your shoulder made you peer at him as he kneels beside you. "You should try to spend this last day with him and your cousin. Before he's gone for good." He advises softly. You bite your lip, meeting his grave gaze. You could tell he didn't believe there was a cure. "I'll be around if you need someone." He offers a soft smile. "See you later." He adds before straightening up and heading off.

You watch him go and grit your teeth. You didn't want to give up on Killer already. There had to be something you could do. But if you couldn't, he probably had a point. "I'll get Kid first then Killer. And hopefully before tonight, I'll have something figured out.
