The Robin I needed

Terrible Tragedy

The Batcave (Demona's POV)
Right before Damian can punch Dick square in the stomach the Batcomputer alarm goes off. I jump up to the other platform and walk over to where Batman is sitting and look at the screen with complete horror. The screen showed a video of a business skyscraper being blown up and it was on the verge of collapsing.

"We need to go now! Grayson with me! Demona go with Damian!" Batman yelled jumping in to the Batmobile followed by Nightwing and took off.

"Demona lets go!" Damian yelled sitting on his bike. I jumped and landed on the back end of the seat and took off quickly.

Center of Gotham city
Damian pulls up next to the Batmobile and I jump off quickly.

"We need to get everyone out of here! Nightwing, Robin and Demona evacuate as many people as possible. I'll go inside and see who caused all this." Batman gave the orders but before he left there was a terrible screeching voice that filled the air of screaming people in a frantic state.

"Hello Gotham!! It's me! You're favorite clown of all time! THE JOKER! Hahahahahahahahah!!!!" He laughed uncontrollably as he sat at the top of the skyscraper.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the backstabber who said she'd kill Robin. What a pathetic excuse for an assassin. But who knew that you would soon work for that Bats himself. Well, come and get me Bats. Hahahahahahaha!!!" He laughed again as he hopped onto a hot air ballon. Bats looked at us as if saying 'stick to the plan I'll get joker' we nod and get to work.

We made out way through the building making sure we could get enough people out before the building would completely collapse. I still remained I the building on the 10th floor just making sure when an explosion went off behind me. I flew into the window as it shattered by the force of my body hitting it. I quickly shot out the metal claws I was wearing and stuck them into the side of the glass building I didn't seem to be slowing down and I threw myself from the side of the building doing a tumble roll but landing on my feet.

The build was falling over and I felt relieved that no one else was in the building. Before I turned to return to Nightwing and Robin I heard a weeping sound. I looked to see a girl at the age of 12 kneeling down where the building was going to land. I turned to Robin and Nightwing and they knew what I was about to do. Robin ran after me as I sprinted to the girl. Nightwing held Robin back as he fought to get free from his grip.

I stood behind the girl and looked down at her. "Hold onto me!ok?" She shook her head as I lifted my hands up ready to protect the girl with all my strength.

'I didn't want you to find out about my power this way but I need to protect her.' I thought to myself.

The building hit the ground as it crushed everything except for me and the girl I was scratched by the metal frame and small pieces of glass pierced my skin. My hands held a large piece of drywall as desks, metal, glass and anything else in a work office would have in it.

Finally the building settled and everything was still. I threw the drywall to the side and embraced the girl who wouldn't let go of my legs. Her big purple orbs showed so much fear and sadness. They reminded me of mine. I knelt down and she wrapped her arms around my neck I knew that emergency crews wouldn't get to us in a few hours so I held her close to comfort her.

Damian's POV
The building fell down in top of them. She was gone in a flash. Demona was gone. Why didn't I go after her? Why did Grayson stop me? I could've stopped her. Tears filled my eyes as my legs gave out next to the fallen building. I can't give up on her. Not here not now.

"DEMONA!!!!!!! DEMONA!!!!" I screamed as I dug through the ruble little by little.

'I won't give up on you. I promise I'll find you. I need you in my arms. I need you here with me.'
