Outbreak Report 001

Chapter 7

Nervous but I'm excited, well for someone new they would surely feel the same. For someone like me, who has a fear for the unknown, this is a little bit of a challenge. We're already on the last hallway, as we approach the East section room. Mito stopped, of course I followed what he does, then he looked at me and whispers, "We should be quiet, did you load your gun? It should always be ready to fire!"

I hold my gun and check it, but it is still locked, Mito assisted me, he keeps on showing me his gentleman side from his being a jerk. "There locked and loaded, please don't point this gun at me, just for safety," kidding aside. We now went to the metal door inside you'll find the stairs that will lead you above the ground for the East section.

Beam of sun rays, will welcome you too the vast of nothingness but life full of zombies. "It's been a long time since I saw this light, so warm and bright. What is my task anyway sir Mito?" I kid, as I asked him. When I turn to him, I noticed every glanced he does to me, I felt awkward.

"Ma'am Claire, you will be staying at this post, need to have an active surveillance. My post will be on the other corner of this wall, if we need to use hand signals, please do so, in order to avoid attracting the zombies." Mito paused as he watched carefully the windows; he puts his fingers to the mouth as a sign of 'shhh'. He saw a zombie near the window, but of course we're not sure if it's really infected, we just assumed by the way it walked. I was so scared, that's the first time I've been so close to a zombie. Luckily it walked away, joining a lot more of them.

I started to do my task; I roam around the corner on where I was assigned. When I reached the door going to another room, I think twice before entering, having no clue of what's on the other side. A neatly room welcomed me, with a bed for two, more on the modern design and another 2 doors on the left. "I'm going to check both", I thought to myself. The first door, leads to a walk-in closet, with lots of glamorous and expensive clothes, some of it still has their tags on it. I do want to try and get some of the dresses but really at a time like this? After checking that, I went to the other door, when I'm about to turn the doorknob, it's locked. I didn't mind at first, but I hear loud noises coming from the inside. Holding my gun as I aimed it to the door, I stomped on the door as hard as I can. I almost clicked the gun, to my shocked; they are waving their hands and telling me to hold my fire.

"Who are you?" I asked the man that stands near me. They all looked at each other, clueless if they should answer me or not, I asked them again, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" The boy has a skinny body, black hair, green eyes and has a lot of freckles. I noticed the red girl still had her eyes focused on me her eyes are so dull and it's color brown. The two of them wore a uniform but I didn't take notice of it, I just need to know what business they have here.

Finally they decided to talk, "I'm Dave and this is Shyla, and we've been hiding here since the outbreak began. We only went outside when we needed food. You must be curious of where we come from all I can tell you is that we're from the East. Please don't kill us we are not one like those creeps", say's Dave.

"Those creeps? You must mean those Zombies, that's what we call them"

"Oh my", I thought to myself, more survivors. "Wait here, I'll call my partner, I'll let him scan the two of you" I left them and close the door silently, I run to Mito and told him what happened. It's a negative; Mito searched them, and led them directly to the base. I get to scout the whole section and everything is clear. I caught a glimpse of the other building; I saw something, a human, trapped on the rooftop. Without hesitation I immediately call on Mito and reported what I saw. After he heard it, he immediately returns to the East section from where he was. It's a good thing that he already sends the 2 survivors, before he got the news from me.
