Red and white twinkling in his newborn eyes,
The mother sat carefully, tears of happiness emptied
The thought of giving up her child, she had despised

It was all cold now, as she handed away her boy
Shivers and fear that made her tremble on the hospital bed
Regrets and guilt, the stars hidden behind the ceiling
She reached out to grasp them, but it was all in her head
