Skye choked back a scream fighting to get out. 'You need to get out of here.' She told herself. 'And find Adelyne too!' She slowly started down the staircase, as quietly as she possibly could and followed the sound of Adelyne's eternal scream. Soon, the sound had led her to the dark hallway, slightly echoing towards her direction. "Oh no... Please don't be in there." She whispered. Skye crept down the hallway, placing her ear on every door to a room she passed, for Adelyne's scream seemed to be everywhere because of how loud it was. Finally, she reached the door to the room she knew... Adelyne's screams were coming from. She didn't even need to set her ear on the door. She KNEW that it had to be that room... Of course. She drew in a deep, shaky breath and lifted her hand towards the doorknob. But, when she opened the door, it wasn't the room downstairs at all. In fact, she hadn't even moved from her bed where she was listening to music. 'What just... Happened?' Skye wondered, pulling out her headphones and sitting up. Adelyne wasn't screaming. There was complete silence. Skye got up, and quickly walked across the hall to Adelyne's room. She looked down. No scratches, nor any blood... Did that really not happen? She knocked on Adelyne's door. "Ade, are you in there? Can I come in?" No answer. "Adelyne!" Skye started to pound on the door. No answer. Skye sighed angrily, and flipped open the door. There she was. Adelyne was still there, playing her game with her headset on, and the volume so loud you could hear it well even without the headset. She glanced away from her screen and saw Skye standing in the doorway. "What what's up Skye?" She said, pulling off her headset. "I just came to check on you." Skye said. Adelyne rolled her eyes, and put her headset back on. Skye shut the door to Adelyne's room and sat on the top stair. 'Why am I acting so paranoid? Is it the house?' Skye sat, deep in thought, wondering about all of the logical possibilities of what is happening to her, and how she could fix them. 'I don't ever want to think of those things again.' She thought. Skye stood up, went to her room and shut the door, leaving the house in silence once again.
