Audrey's POV
I looked out my second story window, forgetting all about reality and going to my happy place; the place I call home. The leaves on the trees were turning from green to red, yellow and orange. This my my favorite time of year. My window overlooks the woods behind my ranch-style home in the middle of nowhere in Loveland; the county side of the city. I could hear the rush of the river, the birds chirping their evening tune and the russell of the leaves being moved by the slight breeze outside.
I was brought back to reality by the booming sound of my mother's voice. She was yelling at my older sister Tera. I got up from my spot on my window seat, walked to my door, opened it and tiptoed to the stairs that lead downstairs to the front room -which is right next to the kitchen. As I reached the third to last step on the stairs, I say down and listened in on their "conversation" as my mother calls them.
"You can't keep me here forever mom," Tera said as calmly as she could. "I turn 18 in a couple of months and when I get enough money to rent my own apartment I'm leaving this place."
"Tera," my mother said sitting down at the island, putting her head in her hands. "I know that you're turning 18 soon and I get that you don't want to be here right now but think about Audrey. She looks up to you. You're the one she turns to when she needs help. What is she going to do without you here?"
"I'll come and visit. She can come stay with me on weekends. I'm moving out, not leaving forever."
I got up from my step I was sitting on, walked up two steps and then stomped down the stairs so they knew I was coming. I walked straight the the fridge, opened it, grabbed a Monster Energy Drink, sat it down on the island, walked to the snack cabinet, grab a bag of Goldfish, grabbed my Monster and then went back to my room. I plugged my iPod in to my iPod doc and blasted Bad Town by Hollywood Undead. I jumped on my bed, grabbed my laptop and iPhone and snapchatted my best guy friend Kyle. We've been best friends since the 7th grade. We had PE, Health, Science and Math together. When he first told me he was gay, I was really surprised because he didn't seem gay. He has black hair that covers his eyes just a little bit, blue eyes and snake bites. He's gorgeous.. Kinda sucks he's gay but I'm perfectly okay with it. He's always been there for me no matter what. I love him for always sticking by my side.
