I wake up in my very normal bed, in a normal house, on a normal street (unless you count that crazy lady at no.7). However I feel very abnormal. I've always thought I've had a sixth sense, but this is something else. I'm just gonna blame it on double biology that I've got today, urghhhh.....
"Skye!" My mum calls from the kitchen as I walk out the door.
"Have a nice day sweetie."
"Thanks mum, bye." The walk to school takes a short while, but I love the scenery and sometimes I stop off at the park. Swinging as high as I can, the sea-shore is just visible beyond some trees. The breeze is making my dark brown hair fly in my face. I push it aside to look at the scenery. I live on the coast in a beautiful village in Cornwall. I love it here. The sky is always so blue like my eyes, that's why I was named Skye. I look at my watch, 8:28. 2 minutes to get to the bus stop! I run out of the park, stopping only to pick up a lucky penny from the ground. My school isn't in my village but actually in the big town near us. Pretty much all of the children from here go to it, because it's the only high school for many miles. Naturally we all take the bus that takes about 20 minutes to get there due to all the potholes in the road.
The bus has just arrived when I get there and I join the small queue that's forming. As soon as I've come to a stop I suddenly get a dizzy feeling and start to fall into someone behind me.
"Hey are you ok?" I look up at the voice. It's Liam, one of the slightly nicer jocks who's surprisingly also very clever. I generally don't like jocks at all, this is extremely embarrassing...
"Errrrm y-yeah. I just felt kinda dizzy all of a sudden. I'm ok, really." I get onto the bus so fast that Usain Bolt would have been proud and put my earphones in. Liam gives me a funny look then goes back to texting his girlfriend I suppose. The school looms into view and I hop out of the bus as soon as I can in the hopes of finding my best friend Kitty. I find her as I walk to my locker.
"Hey!" She looks evidently happy about something.
"Hey, what's up?"
"The sky!"
"Funny... What really?" I give her a look. Kitty pulls out a maths book and exclaims:
"We're learning about Pythagoras!"
Sometimes I'm not even sure what to say. Kitty and I are most definitely in that 'GEEK' category (something which the air-heads and jocks always want to tell us), but she's more into maths and biology than me and I'm definitely more into English and sports. The rest of the subjects we're equally as good at.
"Ooh can't wait...." She squeals some more and drags me to maths.I sit down ready for my almost daily dose of torture. Maths. The teacher starts introducing Pythagoras in a monotone voice, but her words start to slur in my mind and my vision get fuzzier. I can't think and I have a loud ringing noise in my ears. Everything goes black around me.
