Nicole Switzherbert

I was drying my hair with my towel when I saw her furiously looking red when she ended a call on her cellphone. "Who you been talking to?" I asked her. She almost jumped, learning that I was now at her back.

"Erm, a friend.." she replied smiling. She isn't really good at lying because she reacted quite weird but I said I was convinced. I scooted her to move out because her hair were already dry and I need to use the blower too.

Our phone buzzed simultaneously but we didn't mind it for a moment, it's just congratulations messages for the graduation day. Anne applied her make up on and she was on her knees to convince me to put make up on.

A bit of foundation, mascarra and pink lipstick already sufficed mine. I really don't feel like, applying make-up too much nor curl the ends of my hair but Anne really insisted so I just went on it. She even said that I look too plain. Well, I like that. Simplicity meant no harm after all.

We are going to be picked up by her family in less than an hour so we rested for a while first and I read my messages. It was 1 from Anne, 1 from my dad and 1 from my sister saying congratulations, 9 from some classmates of mine all wishing me good luck and messages 'see you later', 1 from my annoying ex-boyfriend and 1 unknown.

I read all the messages except the one from my ex which I deleted immediately. I apologize for being rude but at least I read the message which has the unregistered number. It said:

From: Unknown

Happy graduation day bananie and patootie ;) Glad you both finished high school. I'm so proud of you two. Can't wait to see ya'll later love u :) xx

"Do you know who that is?" Anne asked, startling me as she was peeking on my phone while I was reading. "Not really. You got one too?" I asked and glanced at her phone where the same message I got was sent to her too but hers has a name she just hid it from me.

"It kinda bothers me. Creepy." said Anne shuddering. "I think I heard that from someone before. I just can't remember." I summed up my thoughts but end up not remembering who that is. Well, never mind that. He is showing up anyways, that's what the message said.

Out of the drowsy silence, a loud car honk startled us outside. It even went with a rhythm so I tried to peek out the door to see who it was.

"Nicole! Let's go, let's go, let's go."  Thyron, Anne's little brother, shouted excitedly at the open car window. I showed them my palm, asking them to wait for a while. I told Anne it was them and she excitedly slipped on her stilettos and ran to the front door.

I slipped on my heels as well that Anne has lend me to borrow but hell I am tripping over! Why do I even have to wear this killer machine on this type of a day? Just one wrong step and it's the last day of my life.

"Mum! Dad!" Anne kissed her parents hello. Such a nice thing to see them getting back together again after a few months. A little root of envy growing in me though. I just hope that my parents were here too today. But I can't, since they always act like cats and dogs when they see each other.

Sighing all the bad vibes out, I started walking towards them. "Hey Anne's mum and dad!" I joke, waving.

But someone has a short patience in, "Come on we're gonna be late." Thyron sighed at the window creating moist from his nostrils. I glared at him, planting my fists on my waist, "You wear this kind of heels and let's see who can walk fast." I complained, taking baby steps to avoid tripping over and spraining my ankle.
