"Are you okay?" Rose held Mireya's wrists as she avoided looking at anyone that morning, hiding behind her hair.
"Y- yep. Totally fine." She replied and quickly walked further.
Rose followed.
"Mira, you can tell me anything you know." She pleaded.
Mireya simply nodded, and walked faster.
"Mira, stop ignoring me."
"Mira, please!"
"Mireya Clarissa Chang, answer me!" Rose shouted, her eyes watering.
"Fine! Your cousin is an asshat and I don't want anything to do with you clan ever again!" Mireya turned to yell at the ginger girl, immediately regretting it when Rose broke out in sobs and ran the other way.
"Wa- I'm sorry, Rose! I didn't... mean it." But she was too late.
Mireya sighed, rubbing her soar eyes with her robe's sleeves.
She hang her head low and continued walking, slowly, slowly out the castle.
Towards Hagrid's hut.
She sat herself down next to a tree and closed her eyes.
"Sup, Chang." A lazy voice made her open her eyes and moan, annoyed.
"What is with your clan messing with me today?" She grunted.
"Whoa, whoa." James put his hands up in surrender with a lazy smile, his bed head clearly visible.
"Just because my whole clan screw you over doesn't mean I'm here to do that either. I just happen to be skipping class at the same time as you." He gave her a grin and closed his eyes, leaned his head back against the tree, and hummed a tune.
Mireya sighed, the least annoying one that day happened to be the most annoying Potter on normal days.
"Do you always skip?" She decided to ask.
"Sometimes." He shrugged, eyes still closed.
Silenced enveloped them as James stopped humming and Mireya stared at the sky.
"How come you aren't asking me why I'm here, or why I look so disgusting?" She whispered, confused.
James had always been the nosiest.
"Sometimes people just need time, and they'll speak up when they want to." He replied.
"By the way, you never look disgusting." He opened an eye to smile at her.
She sighed, smiled, and shook her head.
"You're an idiot, James." She banged her head on the tree's bark and winced.
"Your brother rejected me for no reason." She finally let out, and sighed shakily.
"I didn't even confess! He just told me that I was dating Scorpius! As if! He's just a friend! And then just acted all sassy and like he never cared about anything at all!" Mireya breathed as she shouted everything out in a rush.
James was staring at her with an amused smile.
"Don't forget to breathe." He scooted closer to her and flicked her on the side of the head.
"Al is an idiot. Give him time. He'll run right back to you. We all know you guys are in love with each other." He rolled his eyes when Mireya opened her mouth to argue.
"No, no, no. It's very obvious, Mira." He smirked and closed his eyes.
"You know I used to have a crush on you. But you'd suit my idiot brother better." He whistled.
"Why?" She raised an eyebrows at him.
"Why I liked you? Don't you know? You're hot. And funny. Mostly hot." He chuckled.
"No! Why do you think I suit him?" She punched him in the shoulder, smiling. He chuckled again.
"Because, you both are idiots and liars to your own heart." He gave her a lazy grin.
She rolled her eyes but smiled.
"I doubted you, James Potter. Maybe you are a decent human."
He opened his eyes and gave her an amused look.
"Sure, Chang. Whatever you say." He shrugged and went to sleep.
Mireya was pretty sure he fell asleep because of his snores and drool.
She too, finally decided to close her eyes, and let the wind blow through her hair as she fell asleep.
