Chapter 7

I quickly walked away from the change rooms and found the toilets. As I was walking back to the dining hall I ran into Kate. Like literally ran into Kate...

"Oh sorry Frankie! I wasn't looking where I was going! I was just-" she stopped mid sentence as she was gesturing to her buttons.

"Fixing your shirt?" I ask.

"Yeah. What were you doing?" Kate asked, changing the subject.

"I was going to the toilet, I'm just on my way back to the Dining Hall." I answered.

"That's not exactly near by." She countered.

"I got a bit lost." I say.

"Right, well I will show you the way back. I'm starving!" She said as we started walking.

"Must have worked yourself up an appetite" I say quietly.

"Huh?" Crap!

"Nothing..." I reply, trying to act as casual as possible.

When we arrived back at the Dining Hall everyone gave us quizatorial looks, but no one said anything. After that I went to my last two classes then I started to walk home.

As soon as I stepped out of the school gates I could feel the early winter snow fall on my cheeks. I walked around the corner and down past a little cafe called Padfoot & Prongs Kitchen. Once I reached Grans house on Red Vine Drive I walked inside and took of my coat. I could smell cooking coming from the kitchen and slight chatter.

"Oh these are lovely Cecilia!"

"Truly superb!"

I hear British accents coming from the lounge room. As I walk in I see Gran sitting with a group of 5 elderly women around the wood fire place drinking tea and eating fruit cake.

"Oh hello dear. Lady's this is my granddaughter Frankie. Frankie this is Clare," Gran gestured to an elderly yet still very beautiful woman with silver hair and kind features, "and this is Vivian," a woman with glamorous black shining hair that can't of been naturally grown, "Elora, Cecilia," these two women looked similar but not identical. Elora had stronger features with high cheekbones and dark brown eyes. Where as Cecilia was on the rounder, but not obese, side of things and had light blue eyes that were almost as gray as her hair. "And this is Astoria." The last woman caught my eye. As all the other woman looked kind and sweat old ladies, this woman looked terrifying! Her once black hair was pulled back into a neat bun that made me fell self conscious about my mess of a ponytail. She wore a black and purple pant-suit and two inch black heels. She had a stone cold face and looked like she had never smiled in her life! Oh boy...

"Hello!" I say, trying to act cheerful and not buggered. It's not working. I think they can see right through me because Gran said,

"Why don't you go up stairs and relax for a while and I'll call you when suppers ready. It won't be for a while though because Flynn still isn't home yet."

"Are these ladies staying for dinner?" I asked.

"No, no. We're mealy finished our book club meeting anyway. Go on, pop into bed for an hour or so." Gran ushered me up the stairs and I went into my room.

I was planing to go to bed but I really needed to plan an outfit for tomorrow! That school is full of designer clothes and I just want to fit in!

I rummage through my walk-in wardrobe that Gran set up for me today and pick some items I could wear....

Okay one and a half hours later I have come down to two choices, my royal blue skinny jeans and a white and black striped ASOS sweater with Gucci flats OR my purple Holsters skirt with black stockings a and an Abacrombie & Fitch, black, lacy T shirt and Channel black ankle boots.

What to chose, what to chose??? I think I'll decide in the morning, I'm really tired.

I head down stairs and help Gran finish off dinner and we ate when Flynn got home.

After the excruciating 'first day' chat, I went to bed, feeling nackered!
