"Follow me," said Jonathan, quickly getting up from the chair and heading to the door. "Where are we going?" I asked, clumsily following Jonathan. "You're going to meet more people!" Jonathan said, his voice now echoing down the hallway. I noticed that he was running, so I guess it's a race. I started to run quickly, almost tripping down every few small steps on the way. I caught up with Jonathan, who is leaning against the wall, panting and smiling. "How'd you get here so fast?"
Jonathan joked, panting in between. "I don't know," I breathed, leaning against the wall too.

We continued to walk down the hallway, until we reached a room filled with lots of people. "Ya'll say hi to Lin's daughter!" Jonathan shouted, patting me on the back. "She's so adorable!" I heard first. Soon enough, a man with a weird hair cut came running towards me for a hug. Jonathan bursted out laughing. "Macey, this is Thayne," Jonathan introduced.

"Thayne, what are you doing?"

"We're suppose to all give her a hug Thayne!"

The people around him started laughing. I pushed him out of the hug and laughed. His breath smelled like-

Cookies?

"Your breath smells like cookies," I giggled, fanning my nose. Everyone started laughing, including Thayne.

Thayne, what a weird name.

"Hi, Macey, I'm Carleigh!" said a brunette woman behind Thayne. I waved hello. "Her name sounds like the store Macey's," joked a man sitting on a staircase on some sort of screen. "Macey, that's Gregory," Jonathan added. He waved and went back to his little screen thingy.

Everyone else introduced their names and said hi. They all seemed awfully nice and funny, epically Thayne. He stuffed 3 cookies in his mouth, which to me, is absolutely insane.

"He does it all the time," said Andrew, one of the people I met.

"Well, Mace and I are going to go, see ya!" Jonathan concluded, pushing me along. "Bye guys!" I said, waving at everyone.

"Bye!"

"Bye! It was nice to meet you!"

"Bye Macey!"

Jonathan and I left the room happily laughing. "So, watcha' wanna do next?" I asked Jonathan as we walked to the exit. He shrugged. "I don't know, we could go prank some people," Jonathan said, pausing in his steps.

What is a prank?

I looked at him confused. "What is a prank?" I asked, leaning against the wall behind me. Jonathan looked back at me smiling. "It's when you mess with someone for fun," he said, crossing his arms and smiling. I smiled, thinking about the idea. "How we do this 'prank' on my dad?" I asked. Jonathan laughed as he patted me on the head. "You already have a great idea, Mace."

Jonathan and I hid by the half open door of Lin's dressing, giggled. He was scrolling through something on the little screen thing.

I really need to learn what the screen thing is called.

"Okay Mace three, two-"

"BOO!" I shouted, making Lin jump from his seat. He dropped the phone and quickly looked back. Then, he bursted into laughter. "Macey, don't scare your father like that," he laughed. Jonathan emerged by me. "Groff? You were in this too?"

"Of course," Jonathan said walking over to Lin and giving him a hug. Then, he planted a big kiss on his cheek.

"WHAT?" I shouted, after seeing the two men kiss. Lin looked back and pushed Jonathan out of the hug. "It's not what you thi-" I shushed him. I had no words on what just happened. I pointed at Jonathan, then at Lin. Then I made a heart with my hands, confused. "Macey, look. I'm sorry that I did that in front of you..." Jonathan apologized. I tried to change the subject. "Dad, why does Thayne love cookies?" I asked. Then Lin and Jonathan bursted into laughter.

"...then I asked them why Thayne loves cookies!" I told Vanessa on the way back to the apartment. Vanessa laughed as she turned the corner. "Anything else?" she asked. I nodded my head no. "We're almost there," she said, pointing at the final curve.

I ran inside and jumped on the couch filled with glorious happiness. Today had been the best day ever.

"Tired, huh?" joked Vanessa as she walked inside. I nodded as I cuddled up with a pillow. "We'll go rest, I've got to make dinner."

I cuddled with the pillow until the smell of dinner filled the air.

(After dinner...)

I laid down on the bed, looking at the ceiling. Today had been great. Absolutely great. Also, I got a pajamas filled with unicorns from Lin! The door opened, almost scaring me.

Lin came into the room slowly. I directed my eyes to him as he walked over. "Is your wound okay?" Lin asked, brushing my hair out of my face. I nodded. "It's been more than a week, dad. I'm fine," I said, turning over onto my side. "Do you like the pajamas I gave you?" he asked. I nodded sleepily. "Well goodnight, you got school tomorrow," he said quietly.

"Good night."

"Goodnight, sleep tight, Macey."

And I fell asleep right on the spot.
