Lauren awoke with a start early the next morning, her heart racing madly in her chest. A bad dream had forced her awake and now she focused on steadying her breathing when James suddenly shifted his naked body closer to hers. "Are you all right, love?"

"Bad dream." She sighed. "I'm fine. Go back to sleep."

"Tell me about it." James countered, lazily strumming his hand up and down her bare back after moving her head to lay on top of his chest. "You know it helps."

She shrugged. "I feel silly."

"Lauren." His tone implied he wouldn't brook no for an answer.

Sighing as she hid her face in his chest, she admitted. "Just that our wedding hadn't taken place."

"I hope waking in our bed helped you to feel better." He spoke the words in total seriousness with no jesting.

"Do you have to be so damned perfect?"

"Only because I've got you." He kissed her temple, then along her jaw before trailing more kisses just above the curve of her breasts. "I can think of something else that'll help you feel married to me."

Her eyes travelled up his chest to smile at her husband, as she nodded her head in agreement. "I bet you..."

His mouth claimed hers before she had finished her thought. James flipped them, pinning her beneath him. He was clearly ready for another round of love making, as the evidence of his arousal was pressing into her core causing a delicious rush of heat and wetness in anticipation. James ended the kiss, smiling at her before lowering his head and kissing along her body before he settled between her thighs. She bit her lip to prevent from crying out too loudly, as he kept up his sweet assault until the first of two releases overtook all her senses.

James moved them into a seated position, drawing her into his lap and eliciting a groan from himself when Lauren's body made intimate contact with his own. Her arms snaked up to play with his nipples, arching her hips to bring him deeper inside her. His hands moved to her waist, holding her in place to anchor her to him to elicit another loud moan from her and moving to caress her pleasure bud while moving her up and down on his shaft. They were both thoroughly spent and left gasping for breath after they climaxed in sync several minutes later.

Lauren collapsed onto James' chest and he moved to hold her firmly in place. She protested, trying to move off him. "No, James. I'm far too heavy."

"You're kidding me, right?" James said with a laugh, kissing her chin. "Stay here, please. Get some rest now, sweeting. If nothing else, it'll help you the next time you wake up knowing you're my wife and nothing will ever change that fact."

"Fine, you win this round." She agreed, sighing again as she laid her head back down onto his chest. His heartbeat was steady and calming, a lullaby soothing her back into slumber.

Mac discreetly knocked on their door much later in the morning than James would normally wake. "Sir, would you and her Ladyship care for breakfast?"

"That sounds delicious." James smiled at Lauren. "But, give us an hour, Mac. Will you have a bath drawn as well?"

"Yes, sir." Mac's feet were heard going away from the door.

"Why not have the bath now?" Lauren's brow furrowed. "What do you plan to do for an hour?"

He gave her a saucy grin. "What do you think?"
