"I don't know!" Phil cries out loud and clings onto Dan, who was whispering soothing and comforting things to him. Dan holds Phil in his arms and calmly says to Jack and me, "Well, I think that we need to stop at our hotels and grab whatever we can. If that's any sort of help. I mean, in our room," he looks down at Phil and puts his hand in the blue-eyed males hair "We should have something. "
I continue gazing at the road, not speeding anymore. The road was practically abandoned, except for the car or truck every now and then. "Yeah. Nice thinking, Dan. Whose room first? I think we're all in the same hotel. North Wind?"
"Yes. I'm in room 32B." Jack replied. "R-room 47C..." Phil said against Dans chest. Dan leans down and kisses his head and rubs his back.
"Okay, I'm just around there in room 43A. All I hope is that the hotel isn't overrun by zombies...." I trail off. Jack reaches out and puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "If it is, we will get through and grab everything we can." He turns to the huddled up Phil and Dan "Stuff your suitcases with everything from the hotel you can. Blankets, pillows and pillow cases, toiletries, and now that I think about it, toilet paper would be nice. Maybe any foods or coffee packets. I won't survive without those..." He says and laughs to himself. "Chris and I will be doing the same thing in our rooms. Right?" He turns to me and I nod.
We reach the North Wind and I park the car as close as I could to the entrance. Just as we feared, people were running out of the hotel with ginormous bags and such. Before everyone gets out of the car I look around. Across the street was a Walmart. "Guys hold on."
Putting the car back into drive, I speed over to the shopping cart rack. "Everyone grab one or two." They complied and ran over to the hotel and I left my car here. Sprinting over to the hotel with two shopping carts, I shout to the three, "Remember to stay alive! I better meet you all back at my car in 30!" At that note, I dash into the double doors of the hotel along with my allies.
But before we were even at the receptionists desk, we were getting pushed around by running civilians. Prior to me leaving, I made sure that everyone I was with was protected and on their way up the flights of stairs. Getting to my own room, I quickly open the door, with the two shopping carts still with me. It was a pain to get them up those stairs.
First I grab both my suitcases and full them to the brim as much as I could with the current belongings with my bedsheets, the soaps and toothpastes in the bathroom, toothbrushes, and Jack's requested coffee packs. After those were both filled up with various items in the bathroom, I put them in one of the shopping carts. I strip the bed of all the sheets and pillows, putting them in the same shopping cart with my luggage. I grab everything in the bathroom and the kitchen, filling my two carts all the way up. I hope Jack, Dan, and Phil had done the same with their carts.
After I ripped the whole room of its belongings, I took the elevator down to floor one, because no way in hell I'm using the stairs again with these full. As soon as those doors opened I was greeted with a Jack fighting a few zombies.
There were bodies everywhere, ranging from completely flesh to almost just bone. Blood laced the walls, debris scattered the ground, the smell was horrid. I run around the bodies, heading over to the emergency fire axe and break the glass protecting it. Axe in hand, I run back to Sean and hit the zombies in the head, killing the last two zombies in the area. They dropped to the ground with a thud, blood oozing from their heads. I practically just killed two 20-ish year old people. I felt sick to my stomach. At least my panic attacks went away.
"Thanks, Chris." Jack mumbles and runs over to his two carts, also filled like I had asked. He rolls them over to the front door and I go do the same. I place the ax in my cart. It may be useful in the future. But now all we have to do is wait for the two others.
I take this time to look around the place. All the un-turned people had disappeared, leaving just the horde of fresh zombies. Fortunately, they'd all gone as far as Jack and I could tell.
In about 2 or 3 minutes, Dan and Phil were coming out of the elevator door with their shopping carts. And boy, was I happy when I saw they were overflowing. Everything we could possibly need. Well, except for food. And that's what the Walmart is for.
"Dan! Phil! Thank God you're still alive! And you filled the carts!" I run over to them and help take the four carts over to the door along with the others. The four of us head out to my car when I realize, my cars trunk won't fit everything.
"Uh, guys?" I say quietly as we approach my Mustang. "My car isn't big enough for eight shopping carts worth of items..." I sheepishly look at the ground.
Phil speaks up for really the first time and says, "it's okay! We'll figure it out. Let's grab the most valuable items such as our suitcases and put those in first." And so we did. All the suitcases were placed in the back of my car in a hurry, for we feared that zombies could appear at any second. I look at Phil. "Thanks but now what? My cars already full." "Take all the toilet trees, food, coffee," he looked at Jack with a smirk "and small necessary items such as weapons. Dan and I grabbed knives from the kitchen." He smiled at Dan.
After we managed to fit everything in my car, (we had to sit on the blankets, which we put on the seats, and put stuff in the back area with Dan and Phil. They put the pillows underneath the seats and put the sheets underneath their feet. Phil is an extremely useful asset right now, with a very intelligent mindset. Dan's a lucky man. ) we headed to Wallyworld. We decided to put the food and water were stealing from there in the front with Jack. We can put cans in the dashboard and put waters at Jacks feet.
We get everything we can salvage and surprisingly don't run into any danger inside. Some lights were out in the store and shelves were knocked down. Oh and don't forget the occasional body here and there. We got waters, canned food, Gatorade, bread, weapons such as more knives, a few hatchets, backpacks, sleeping bags, matches, lanterns, batteries, flashlights, and a few tents. We stuffed as much as we could into the backpacks (we had grabbed like 12 backpacks) and headed out of the Walmart with more than we had wanted. But it was all needed so we'll figure it out.
Back in the car, everything we grabbed with us causing us to be squeezed together, we head out into the world again.
"Right now it may seem bad, but when we're together, everything will be alright." I say to everyone as I'm driving again mindlessly. Jack smiles at me and Dan and Phil smile at each other, as if that's what they think about everyday when they're together. Dan leans in and kisses Phil, and smiling, Phil kisses back.
Smiling at them now I whisper, "I always shipped the Phandom." Jack laughs loudly and the two lovers smile and blush.
Maybe now that I think about it, everything will be alright.
But man, was I wrong.
