I sat there looking at Maya, expecting an answer.

All I got was her stupid giddy looking face.

"Helllloooo? Anyone in there?"

She looked back at me, and finally opened her mouth to speak.

"That new boy, Christopher, said I have a pretty face..."

I inwardly facepalmed, I should've known it was about a boy because of the look on her face. 'Come on Angel, quit being blond'

"Oh, well that's nice. Congratulations. By the way I didn't bring you an apple today."

The look on her face quickly changed to an expression of sadness. I chuckled a bit.

"I brought you an apple and a cupcake. My treat, its on the house."

She almost jumped up out of her seat, whilst grabbing my make- shift Walmart Bag lunchbox.

"Really?! Thanks."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

She devoured the cupcake with wolf like skill, and I instinctively put my hand by my face to keep the crumbs from getting on it.

"Could you kindly refrain from eating like an animal? I'd prefer to not have your lunch all over me."

She laughed at me and I smiled.

"Hey, wait, your lunch bag is empty now. Did you already eat?"

"Yeah, sure."

Suddenly, the two new boys sat by us. Maya blushed and I just sarcastically smiled at them.

"Well if it isn't the two new boys. Jake and Christopher, right? What do you want?"

Christopher smirked and looked at Maya.

"I just wanted to see my beautiful new acquaintance. What's it to you?"

I glared at this boy and looked back to Maya. She was just staring at him smiling and blushing.

'Oh god, here we go again. I'm done here. There's something wrong with that boy. His friend seems awfully quiet as well.'

"I'm very sorry, but I have a math test to study for, and Maya knows how much I suck in that class. I'll see you after school, Maya."

I got up and walked out of the cafeteria, and into the school parking lot. I hopped into my pick-up truck and put the key into the ignition. I looked at my watch, and then back out the windshield.

I think I'm gonna go out drinking tonight.
