Chapter One

Lily's Pov

I woke up to my alarm clock going off at 6:30 a.m. and I knew summer time was finally over. Today was the first day of school, which I was not looking forward to. It was my very first day of high school. Being 14 and going to high school sucks especially when you don't know anyone going to your school, except my friend named Bella. Bella has been held back twice so she's actually 16. She was held back so much because for about a year and a half she was really sick and couldn't do anything. Anyway since she's 16 she drives me to school every morning and anywhere we really want to go when we just wanna get away from everything.

As I started to get ready for school I got a text from Bella.

From: Bella

"Ready for our first day of high school?"

To: Bella

"Yeah, It's going to be so much fun!"

No, This is not going to be fun. This will be hell.

From: Bella

"Yay! Be ready by 7:15 because I'm picking you up by 7:20."

To: Bella

"Okay! Thanks. Luv youuuu!!"

Ugh, I really don't wanna go.

From: Bella

"See you in a few minutes weirdo."

It's already 7:45 so I just threw on some ripped skinny jeans and a maroon colored shirt with my black hightop converse, and I cant forget to put all my braclets. I fixed my long blonde hair into two braids and put my makeup on. Then I grabbed my school bag and waited at the door for Bella. Once I saw her car pull up I ran outside and she got out of her car to give me a
hug and then we both got back in the car and drove to school.

The car ride was actually really fun. It took us about 25 minutes to get to school but the time pasted by so fast because we were jamming out to Sleeping With Sirens, Blink-182, One Direction, All Time Low, etc. We also caught up with each other a bit.

We finally got to school and I tried to find my first class which was history. I finally found out that it was on the second floor and headed up that way. I was looking at my schedule and wasent paying attention to my surroundings until I ran into someone and fell onto the floor. Oh great this day is officially getting worst is all I could think about until I looked up to see who I ran into. It was a tall, tan, jet black haired guy.

"I'm so so sorry I wasent looking around and payinf attention to my surrounding because I was-"

He cut me off in an instant.

"No, your fine. It's all good I get it, we are all new here," He said with a slight smile on his face.

"Ok sorry again, I can be clumsy sometimes."I apologized again.

"You say sorry a lot" he chuckled.

"Yeah... Well I should probably go to my class." I said wanting to leave because I'm not good at talking to people.

"If you show me your schedule I can give you directions." he pointed at my schedule.

I showed him my schedule.

"It's down the hall on your left." He said.

"Okay, Thanks."

"Welcome! By the way my names Calum." He said with a smile.

"Lily" I said.

After that I walked straight to my class watching my surroundings so I didn't run into anyone again.

I was on my way to my second period which was science. I ran into Bella thank the lord.

"Hey Stupid!" she exclaimed.

"Hey, how has your day been going so far?" I asked her.

"Great! How about you?"

"Could be better. I need to go to my next class so ill see you after at lunch?"

"Yeah, sure. Bye weirdo!" she exclaimed.

When I finally found my classroom I sat in the very back of the classroom because I hate attention. I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through it until I felt someone tap my shoulder. I looked up and I saw Calum. He sat right next to me.

"Hey, I didn't know we had classes together" He said.

"Yeah..." is all I could say.

who's the blondie in the back? I overheard someone in the front say.

I don't know but I think she's new. She looks really weird though. And ugly.

I heard the other boy add. That's all i had to hear to make me wanna cry.

"Don't listen to them, they are jerks." Calum said.

"I think I need to go ill be right back." Calum could see that something was wrong with me as I said that. He got up and followed behind me but I didn't see him.

I left and ran to the bathroom and closed one of the stall doors behind me. I started crying my eyes out once I knew that I was alone. When I was trying to stop crying I walked up to the mirror and tried to get the mascara that was running down my face off. Once I got it all off I walked out of the bathroom and saw Calum standing there.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"Your eyes are really red Lily, I can tell that you were crying." After that I was about to say something but instead he just wrapped me in his arms and gave me a big hug. I don't know what it was but it made me feel warm and safe. Definetly safe. That was the safest I have felt in a really long time and I actually felt a really small smile creep onto my face. It wasent a fake smile for once, it was real.
