"Alexander!" I screeched as we were falling. My eyes were tightly shut, I refused to watch myself die.
I heard Alexander laughing, but I refused to pry my eyelids open. I heard Hailey giggling as well. I silently prayed as I felt my stomach churning. I clamped my hand over my mouth.
"Dude, don't barf! It's fun!" Alexander laughed.
As if his voice was a commandment to stop moving, the bubble did. It softly landed, popping as it touched the soft ground.
"Open your eyes." Alexander whispered, suddenly very close to me. I slowly opened them, and took in the magical sight in front of me.
I was literally behind the sea? Or maybe in it?
"Valeri, this is our special place. Nobody can come in here without our permission. Nobody." He sounded like a mother speaking of her child. I smiled at him before looking back at the sight that lay before me.
The ocean looked like it was being held up by glass, but when I walked over and touched it, I felt the water, and a fish actually swam by and brushed against my hand. I could see whales in the distance, and the water was a beautiful shade of aqua. The room was round, and very large. A group of people were huddled together at one end.
"This is so beautiful." I whispered in awe.
"It is. But, we need to get started on our training." Alexander spoke softly, laying a strong hand on the small of my back, leading me to the group.
"Alright guys, we're already late, so let's just get started pairing." Alexander said loudly. All of the group turned their attention to him, ready to take his orders.
He clapped his hands together once before looking the group over.
"I want Asher with Courtney, Levi with Andre, Hailey and Noah, Lila and Hanna, George and Victoria, Ava and Jax, Avery with Valeri, and Silas with Me. Linda, you supervise. Alright, team up!" He spoke loudly and clearly, though I was hung on Avery and I.
A girl with strawberry blonde hair came walking towards me, she looked around twenty one.
I quickly whipped out my notebook, and I flipped through until I found Avery. Temporary deafness. I stared wide eyed at her. She was less than three feet away now.
"Sup?" She asked as she closed the distance.
"H-Hi." I asked, nervously.
"Guys! Since Val is new, I want to show her what to do. As you all know, we are here to test our abilities, and practice against our opponents. We are against the usual, but you don't know, and this job is never ending guessing. We could lose many people, and I refuse to allow it." He paused in his words, looking over the group, letting his message sink in.
"Okay. Silas and I are going to do a practice round. Valeri, take notes." I saw his wink visibly, though he was very far away from me. I blushed, looking at my feet. I jumped a little when I felt somebody wrap their hand around my forearm.
"Dang, jumpy much?" Avery snickered as she pulled me closer.
Once we were less than a hundred feet away, it all happened within a blink of an eye.
It was literally snowing. Alexander smirked, shaking his head.
"Do something else for a change, Si. Unless that's too difficult?" Alex taunted, and they began circling each other, crouching like a tiger stalking it's unfortunate pray. I heard a growl erupt from Silas, and the snow began melting, and it was blazing hot in here. I fanned myself with my hand, and tied my hair up and out of my face.
