We walked until noon. I had no idea where we were going. Mum didn't seem to know either. But this was mum. She's been doing this since she was 10 years old. Im just a rookie. Actually I'm not a rookie if I've never been to the Zone before. Which got me thinking.
Can i get my bag which I stored in the Zone, while I'm in the Zone?
I should have thought this through. No wonder mum doesn't store her stuff there. She knows what she's doing. Before I could attempt to get my bag, she grabbed my arm and we made the jump.
That feeling is just unexplainable.
No wonder Shadowers do this all the time. It feels amazing. The landing however, did not.
We landed on a hill. Mum was okay, but I rolled down 40 feet until I hit its bottom. I got up, dusted myself off, and took in my surroundings. It was exactly like they said. Everything around me was pitch black. I couldn't tell the difference betwéen a telephone pole and a tree at this point. But the Shadows could. They would notice if anything was left out of place. The same way we would at home.
After I couldn't be more intrigued, I realised that I hadnt checked on Mum. I looked back and was about to call her, but her face made me hesitate. She had the look that I got every time I was training. The look of a predator.
She knew where Frank was. I could see it in her sky blue eyes. The intense fury she was trying to hide from me.
She noticed me looking.
"It's time for you to go home now Lizzie" she said calmly. I was about to argue but she snapped her fingers and I was back on my bed. Next to my bag.So she knew.
I sat up and thought it through.
After half a day of walking and waiting for noon, turns out she could have sent us there with a snap of her fingers. But why would she do that? I'll have to ask her.Secondly, worst case scenario, she doesn't come back. I'll have to go to Mr. Ben. The only other Shadower I know.
'But what if he doesn't take you' I thought. 'Nah man he will take me'.
'You realise that you are talking to yourself right?'.
'I am fully aware of that and will stop now.
So plan made.
I grabbed my emergency cab money, my credit card, and my travel bag.
I left the house and left a note in case she comes back. As soon I left, I stopped a taxi.
"Where you wanna go love" she said with a british accent.
I replied with no hesitation.
" The airport "
