Today was the day.

New school.

New people.

No bully's.

No hassle.

It should be simple? I'm hoping with every single but if hope that I have left, that it will be easy and simple.

I was so nervous. Butterflies were flipping around in my stomach, it was like they were doing somersaults. I didn't have a school uniform so I slipped on my black skinny jeans and my Pierce the veil top on with a black jumper and my doc martins and a red beanie that covered my dreadful bedhead.

I walked down to the big kitchen and found only Millie in the kitchen crunching into a bowl of coco pops, hunched over the table. As I walked into the kitchen the squeaking of my shoes echoed along the long room. Millie lifted her head up. Wow she looked bad. She looked awful. Her messy and frizzy hair stood on end pointing in all directions. The blue and purple bags under her eyes were a newly found prominent feature on her face. She was in her black dressing gown with her batman pyjamas. Her heavy head and sunken eyes were resting on her limp hand that was held up by her elbow.

"Good morning" She said obviously tired.

"Morning, hey did you sleep last night?"

"Hey I don't know Hannah! What do you think?" She said sarcastically thumping her head against the table. Slightly hurt I walked past her and made my way over to the fridge. It had been almost two weeks now so I was starting to get use to where everything was. I got the milk and from the fridge and slammed the carton against the marbled work surfaces loudly but not so that I would wake everyone up.

"Hey Han? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just. I got no sleep last night you know?" I respected the fact that she apologised because it's not something she does often, and turned around to face her.

"It's ok. I understand. But why?" I dared to ask.

"I was worried" she sighed and took a pause before speaking again.

"I was worried about you. Your new school. I mean I was worried about the other students there, the teachers. Everything. I mean I don't want I to be a repeat of what happened last time" she said burying her head deeper into the palm of her hand.

"Don't be. I'm old enough to look after myself and this school is different. New school, new me, yeah?"

"Well I hope you don't change much because I was just starting to like this Hannah" she laughed.

The school bus had taken quite a while to get to the school due to traffic. The first thing I saw when I got of the plain white bus was a building. Yeah, yeah I know your thinking nah of course a building, like how stupid can I be? But no. This building. It was massive. Bigger than my new house! My jaw dropped to the floor. I looked around me. All the stereotypes were around me. You had the jocks.

The emos.

The foreigners.

The comfort eaters.
