After I let myself relax for a little while, I heard our back door open. I saw Chang, his parents and mine walking towards me. Let the expedition begin! My mom was one of the last people to buy our ship. It cost us about ten thousand dollars but my mom says it's always worth it when it comes to sharks.

Late spring into early winter is the time of year when all shark scientists wants to get in the ocean and do some research. Our crew cost my parents another couple hundred dollars. All together there is about ten of us now. First I'm going to introduce you to Dustin.

Dustin is our captain, of the ship . He's your typical surfer guy, plaid shirt ripped shorts, flip flops. He also walks around with his surfboard too. To me, I think he's gorgeous. He has blond hair that goes past his shoulders and blue eyes. He's skinny yet he has that broad look to him. Id say he's in his early twenties. I get really nervous whenever I'm around him, I can't help it. Even when he just smiles at me my heart skips a beat.

Next is Brian. He is our shark expert. He knows more about sharks then my parents who's been doing research for about twenty years now. He'll be the one who will do most of the cage diving. Brian is almost the exact opposite of Dustin when it comes to physical appearance. Brian has short brown hair, and hazel eyes. He's pretty big too but not that bad.

Third, is Jamie. He's going to help us get the sharks over our net when we dump it in the ocean and he'll help us lift the sharks on to our boat and strap them down while my dad tags them. Jamie will also help Brian out the most when it comes to cage diving. Jamie is dark skinned, with long hair in locks, and he's really ALL muscle. Its kind of freaky when you can see the veins on his arms.

Last, but not least is our shark photographer Evan. Evan is around in his mid forties, short brown hair but you can tell that it's greying a little bit. He has green eyes, kind of short and he's under the most pressure. We need him to do some cage diving too to get some pictures. It's really hard because when he's taking a picture that's the only thing he cares about, is getting that perfect shot. You never know when a shark is going to go after you. When your a shark biologist things don't always go to plan.

Finally everyone got on our ship, and we all got our equipment ready while Dustin and Jamie got the ship ready and the engine running. Before I knew it we started our first expedition. It was early afternoon so we got lots if time before we have to dock our ship to grab something to eat. I decided to be brave and walked over to where Dustin was and attempted a conversation. He saw me coming towards him and smiled.

"Hey Gabby are you excited?" It took all the will power not to jump when I answered him.

"Yes of course I am!". Dustin was going to say something when I saw a Great White shark jump out of the water with a seal in its mouth...poor thing. Dustin must have seen it too because he sped up closer where the shark dived back in the water. I ran over to where Chang was and jumped on him.

"Did you see that?! We're back with the sharks buddy!". Chang smiled at me with excitement in his eyes.

"Yes I did see that you crack head.". I laughed when things got into speed motion.

"Alright people get everything ready for tagging! Go, go, go!". My dad bellowed. It took us about two minutes to get everything ready...We had to get the net prepared my dads lap top and our ship needed to be as close to where the shark is as possible. I looked in to the ocean when I saw the big shadow. "There it is!". We threw the net into the ocean and we waited for the shark to swim over it. For our first shark it was a Great White!!

A couple of hours later we managed to tag three out of five sharks that we needed to do for our first day. I am beyond excited and happy. The sun started to set and my mom said Dustin could find a spot for us to dock our boat.

We climbed off our ship and walked into town for a little while. We decided to go to dinner to this little place called Schooner's. They always seem to have great music and their food isn't too bad. After our hostess greeted us we followed her to our table and got ourselves situated. I ended up sitting next to Chang, didn't see that one coming.

"He keeps staring at you.". Chang said to me as he took his seat next to mine...
