TJ Hammond

You've known the Hammonds for years, especially TJ. In fact, you were the first person TJ came out to, and you came out to TJ a few years later when you discovered you were bisexual. Unfortuantly, you never saw him again due to your father's job. You had moved overseas to England where you stayed longer than you should have. Nineteen years went by and you still remembered TJ, and all the great times you had. Now, you were Twenty-nine and single, moving back to America for the first time in years. It was then you learned that Elaine Barrish, TJ's Mother, had divorced Bud and was the Secretary of State. TJ had been hospitalized due to a drug overdose and apparently he tried to kill himself two or so years ago. Learning all of this made you confused and yet worried about him, so you got out your phone and prayed he had the same number. "Come on TJ you bastard. Pick up." you muttered. To your dismay, you got a monotone telling you the number was no longer valid instead of the familliar voice of your best friend. You sighed and began to unpack your bags, trying to take your mind off things.

Your phone buzzed, and you secretly hoped it was TJ. Instead, it was your girlfriend. "Hey (Y/N)! How's America?!?" she asked. You rolled your eyes. "I can't decide yet. I just got to my hotel room a few minutes ago." you said, taking a seat on the bed. "God, I wish I was with you. I miss you so much." her British accent chimed. "Look, Ali, I have to go. I'll call you when I can, okay?" you said, trying to end the conversation before you said something mean like you usually did when you were mad. "Okay. Bye baby!" and with that, Ali hung up. You sighed once again and decided to check out the little brochures in your room. Most of them were advertising DC's museums and the white house, but something caught your eye. A club called the Dome that was pretty damn new that looked amazing. Without reading anything else, you decided that you'd be going there tonight. You waited about an hour before grabbing a skimpier outfit and getting ready. You left the hotel at around 8 and began walking the familliar streets of Washington DC.

So much had changed and yet it was all so similar. "I wish TJ was here..." you whispered to yourself. You couldn't help but feel depressed at the mention of his name. The worry began to return, and you wondered if TJ was okay once again. Before you knew it, you were at the doors of the Dome. The bouncer let you in, smiling as you passed. When you entered the club, you were greeted with flashing neon lights, leather seats, and lots of velvet. "Wow..." you exhaled, taking it all in. The Dome was beautiful, and you couldn't help but admire it. "Hey missy..." called a male you didn't know from a table nearby. "You gotta boyfriend bitch?" he asked, clearly drunk. "No, girlfriend. But thanks for asking." you rolled your eyes in disgust and walked right up to the bar where a very attractive guy was serving a group of young guys. He kind of reminded you of TJ. "Excuse me sir? Can I get a shot of whiskey?" you asked him. The guy turned to face you. The two of you stated at each other for a while before he shook his head. "Sorry...it's just that...you remind me of someone I used to know."

You couldn't help but laugh. "Funny, I was thinking the same about you." you replied. The man handed you your whiskey. "I take it you aren't from here?" he asked. You shook your head no. "I used to live here before I moved to England." you took a drink of the whiskey. The man's eyes got wide. "My god...(Y/N)?" he asked. You knew you had seen those blue eyes somewhere before. "TJ?!?!" you exclaimed. "Oh my god!" he was so surprised. "I had no idea you worked at a club!" you were stunned as well. "Technically I own this place, but yeah. My mom finally let me work again after the whole "overdose" thing." he scrathed the back of his neck. "We have a lot of catching up to do." you said. "Yeah. We do." he added, walking away from his post as someone took his place. TJ walked right up to you and took you over to an empty booth. "So how's England?" he asked. "It's great. I've even got a girlfriend now." you said, smiling. "Now that's the (Y/N) I remember." TJ smirked. You noticed something that you hadn't in the nineteen years you were gone.

You liked TJ. It was in that moment that you recognized that you never told him that before you left because he was gay. "Hey, uh TJ? There's something I never got off my chest...and I guess I was too scared to say it since you were gay..." TJ looked interested now, waiting for you to continue. "I...uh...kinda had this crush on you...I guess." you braced for his rejection. Instead, he began laughing. "You thought I didn't notice? You do realize I would have slept with you whether I was gay or not. Anyone can change for their best friend." you smiled. "God, I'm drunk. Aren't I?" you asked. TJ nodded. "Absolutely. Wanna rent a hotel before you realize what you just said?" he asked. You nodded yes. The only thing you thought in the morning was how the hell you are going to the Ali that you hooked up with your best friend.
