Dean stayed for cake and more openings of presents, in fact all of them, and he wasn't gone yet. "Dean, I suppose you should be heading back at some point," I pointed out, looking up at the clock, which read: 9:30. Way past Alice's bedtime, although surprisingly, she kept herself awake. She was probably still excited about all of her presents and seeing Dean. "I could stay the night, y'know, if that's okay with you?" He smiled cheekily, though smug. "I suppose you could," Alice jumped up and down at the idea. "YAY DADDY!!!" She giggled, joyfully. "Thanks," He replied, his attention still on Alice. "We better get you ready for bedtime," Dean picked Alice up and carried her up the stairs. "Sleep time!" Alice said, sounding delighted that she could finally get some rest. She did look tired. Meanwhile, I stayed downstairs and decided to make myself and Dean a cup of hot chocolate.

I soon put Alice to bed. She was all cute when she was tucked in. Lil came upstairs just after I put her in and brushed her teeth and said goodnight too. Then, we went downstairs quietly. "I made you some coco," Lil handed me a mug of hot chocolate that smelled really good. "Thanks," I replied, taking hold of it and taking a sip. "So, um, where do you want me to sleep?" I asked. I had to ask, right? "Um..." I could see her blushing a little, uncomfortably. "You could sleep on the couch... I have blankets and stuff... Or you could sleep with me, if you wanted. It's up to you," She looked down at the floor in embarrassment. "Well, it's pretty chilly out, so, I'll keep you company if you want," I winked and took another sip of my drink. "Okay," She smiled, tugging at her shirt a little. I looked down at her feet, "Still not over those slippers," I chuckled, making her laugh a little. "I'll just go and get my stuff from the car," I announced. "What? Oh my God, Dean Winchester. I should've known. You were so prepared for this, weren't you?" She laughed. "Of course I wasn't! I was still gonna change even if you left me out on the couch!" And with that, she shook her head and I went out to get my stuff.

Just got called from work and apparently I'm fired. Fuck my life.
~Dean~
I walked back in to see Lil at the table with her hand over her face. "Li? You okay?" I sat down steadily. "No," She rubbed her temples in aggravation. "I just lost my job," She replied. "Ah..." I felt sorry for her. "And that's it. Because now that I don't have a job, I won't be earning money. And now that I'm not earning money I won't have enough for bills and to take care of Alice. And as if that's not enough, I still owe the babysitter weeks of wages. Dean, I don't know what to do. Even if I get a loan, I'll never be able to pay it back." In response, I gave her a look of concern and gave her a hug. "Lil, it's gonna be okay," And after saying this, I hoped to God it would be. "C'mon, let's get some sleep," I told her, and we both went up to bed. It was so good to be able to hold her in my arms again and keep her safe.

I have no idea where Dean went, but he didn't come back until late morning. And we were meant to be on the hunt early this morning... sigh. "Where you been?" I asked, as Dean came in the door. "Oh, just over Lil's place. It was Alice's birthday, so," He walked over to me and looked around. "Okay. Still, we were meant to be starting the hunt hours ago. I mean, you could've called. You could've just come home." I said, frustrated. "Well I'm sorry that I wanted to spend a bit of time with the family that I have abandoned for the past three years." Dean stormed off to get ready for the hunt, and Robyn came out into the room. "'Sup with him?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know. He's just cranky because I yelled at him and he thinks it's because he spent time with Lil and Alice." I replied. "Oh. Huh. That's funny. I haven't seen her in years either and I knew her first so," Robyn rolled her eyes. It wasn't long before we were finally back on track with the hunt.

I might go and see Lilliana myself at some point. To see how she's doing, and stuff. I haven't seen her in ages, though. After everything., I have to say, it feels like she kind of ditched me. Anyway. I hope she is okay, and Alice. Dean seemed quite upset about having to leave them.

Even after Dean left, Alice still seemed fairly happy the next day. Dean had got her an anti-possession necklace. I told her that I'd keep it until she was a bit older, even though she insisted that she wore it right away. Whilst Alice was playing with her new presents, I pondered over what job I could possibly apply for now that I had been fired. A few ideas came to mind, and at first I thought I had no hope, but then I thought of something. Nearby, there was an ice cream parlour that Alice and I occasionally went to. The ice cream was really good and they were looking for staff last time I went in. That was it, then!
I went into Alice's room to tell her that we were going out. Then we headed over to the ice cream parlour and were greeted by a friendly, quite handsome man. Not that I was going to tell anyone that. "Hi, are you still looking for staff?" I asked, letting Alice look at all of the flavours of ice cream at the front counter. "Yeah, we are!" He replied, cheerfully. "Great!"
I applied for the job. And I got it! I'm so pleased. It's a new start.
