Boy, Oh, Boy

A/N: I've published this a few times and it hasn't been working, so sorry it took so long for an update!

Nico seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Will had seen him during activities three days ago, but after that? Nothing. It just didn't make sense. Will had asked around for him, but the other campers didn't seem to know anything. Nico hadn't been at meals or training or anywhere else in between according to literally every person Will had talked to, including Percy.

Will was starting to get worried.

If Nico had left camp, somebody would have noticed, right? Chiron would have noticed. Right?

Will wasn't sure, and it was starting to really gnaw at him. If Nico left, it would probably be Will's fault. The infirmary was only a week ago, and it had been a disaster from the second Nico had had to take his shirt off. Obviously the lycanthrope scratches weren't what Nico had really been worried about.

See, Will was pretty sure Nico had come to hate him in those three days. Not only had Will sort of stumbled across Nico's deepest pains, but also one of his greatest fears. And now because of that, Will was afraid he'd scared Nico off.

Not that Will hadn't been supportive, of course. Will had done his best to be a good doctor and a good person in those few moments. But from the look in Nico's eyes... look, whatever. The point is, Will was worried, and he wasn't going to spend any more of his time worrying about a hero without actually trying to check in with them first.

So there he was, slowly opening the door of the Hades cabin... poking his head in. Hopefully Nico hadn't run away like Will feared. He had knocked already, and no-one answered. He called out now, and no-one answered.

Will's heart sank with every step he took. There was no sign of Nico at all. The cabin was a huge mess. The bed was basically just a lumpy pile of blankets, the floor was covered in weird bags of powdered roots, and the desk had a whole flat of gatorade on it. Will even found some unicorn-based remedies. It looked like Nico had some sort of tiny home-remedy infirmary going on. But the thing which really made Will curious was the bathroom. The lights were still on, and it smelled heavily of iron. The way blood sometimes did. Pill bottles and rubbing alcohol were all thrown over the counter, along with a very used looking Dynarex bandage roll, like what was usually found in first aid kits.

Where Will had been worried before he started to panic. What if Nico hadn't fled after all? What if he'd gotten hurt, or one of his injuries flared up and because of Will he hadn't felt comfortable going back to the infirmary? What if instead of seeing Will again Nico decided to take his chances with some mortal hospital? Oh gods. Will started to search the drawers frantically, dynarex still in hand, hoping there might be a clue of some sort. He needed to find where Nico had gone and fast, otherwise -

    "Will?"

    Oh gods.

    Okay.

Right, so now Will had just made a gigantic fool of himself.

"It's not what it looks like," he promised, holding his hands up to help prove his innocence. He started to turn away from the sink, and towards the voice.

Nico stood across from the bathroom, hair a rat's nest, wearing his pajamas.

The t-shirt he wore didn't cover the shape of his breasts, and Will realised this was probably the first time he'd ever seen Nico without any binding. The infirmary was when Will had realised Nico even used it at all. Obviouly it was a bit of a surprise, but it wasn't a problem. Will, being pansexual and a healer, was of the most accepting people in camp. But even through all his medical help Will hadn't really come to full terms with what Nico binding really meant.
