I breeze through my homework and get ready for bed. I turn off the lights before slipping under my covers. The last thing I remember thinking was that maybe it wasn't such a bad thing that Drew would be staying with us.

Chapter 7

Tris pov

My knight in shining armor and i are riding into the sunset when we are interrupted by some annoying beeping sound. I wait patiently for it to go away and leave my knight and I in peace but naturally no such luck. The minutes pass by and the sound only seams to get louder and louder, driving me crazy.

All of a sudden I wake up from my beautiful dream and Im on the ground twisted in my blankets. That annoying beeping sound I heard was my stupid alarm clock. Sadly, riding a unicorn was not what I would be doing today, but rather going to school... Yay, you can practically see the fake enthusiasm dripping from my words.

After i spend 5 minutes just laying on my floor and pondering how much I hate school I finally get up and walk towards my ensuit bathroom. I turn on my shower before stripping down and hopping in. I do all that jazzy shower stuff before wrapping myself in a towel and going into my walk in closet. After many minutes of excruciating indecision I finally decide to wear a pair of white jean shorts that are a little shorter than I'm used to but not like slutty, and a blue crop top that says love. I slip on a pair keds and sit down and start my makeup. wow who knew that getting ready for school be take so long, luckily i got up early this morning and I still have half an hour before I have to leave.

I do some basic makeup, just a little mascara and eyeliner and some lipgloss, before I hear someone knocking on my door. I walk towards my door while brushing my hair and to my surprise its already open with drew standing against my wall.

"How long have you been in here?" I ask, my cheeks turning light pink when I realize he might have seen me changing.

"Only a minute, but your mom wants to know what's taking you so long to change... Apparently it usually takes you five minutes to get ready," drew says smirking.

My cheeks just turn a brighter shade of pink.

"I was just" he cuts me off.

"Awe you were getting all dressed up to impress me weren't you?!". He says not omitting his signature smirk.

"Who said it was for you? Maybe I was dressing up for Adam... you never know..." I reply regaining my usual sassy attitude.

At my statement drew actually looks flustered and kinda pissed. hmmmm why would that bother him? that's when I remember that drew asked me out and that he must be jealous. Sure I wasn't being serious but still.

"Awe is someone a little jealous?".

"No I'm not now hurry up your mom wants to see you before she goes to work." with that drew leaves my room.

Naturally I follow him out and grab his arm, turning him around so that he faces me.

"Drew, I was just teasing you. don't worry, I'm not dressing up for Adam,ok?"

"Yeah whatever Tris, now come down and talk to your mom.". He says and I can trace a hint of cockiness back in his voice.

I go back into my room and grab my school bag and phone before heading downstairs. when I walk into the kitchen I'm surprised to see that both my parents as well as Drew's are sitting around the table and drinking coffee.

"Good morning dear, how did you sleep?"

Ugg my mom drives me crazy. she acts like she cares but isn't really around to just do normal things with me. clemence practically raised Josh and I which is why I'm so surprised that my mom actually wants to talk to me.

I ignore my moms question before turning to Drew's parents.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Evans."

"Good morning Tris, how did you sleep darling?"

"Wonderfully thankyou," I reply which pisses my mother off since I completely ignored her just a few minutes ago.

"Tris I need to speak with you for a moment please," my mom says whilst standing up and leaving the room. I slowly get out of my seat and follow my mother out of the room.

"Yes mother dearest what can I assist you with?" I say in a mocking tone.

"Don't speak to me that way. Now I'm just informing you that I will be going away for business and it should last about a month. Before you throw a fit you should also know that your father will be coming out to California with me and we will be spending our anniversary there. So we will probably be gone for about six weeks. The Evans will be staying here until Friday and then they will be going to Hawaii, your father and I decided that they are under too much stress with the house fire so we have gotten them all the reservations and tickets and such that they will need for a week stay in Honolulu."

"Wonderful thanks for sharing mom, it's not like you guys ditching Josh and I is anything new."

"Don't speak to me that way, I am your mother and I deserve your respect."

"Aha yup great im gonna be late for school bye." with that I go into the kitchen and grab my stuff, say goodbye to my da and tell drew if he wants a ride to come now.

Once I'm seated in my car I actually register what just happened. my parents are actually leaving for more than a month, again.

"Yo, McDave, are we going to school or not?" drew questions from the passenger side.

Wait... drew, that means for the week that Sarah and Harry Evans are in Hawaii it's just gonna be me, josh, and Drew in the house. oh dear lord what else could possibly happen in the span of three days?

Five minutes later I pull into the senior parking lot at north boulevard. when I get out of the car I am immediately surrounded by Gabs and Grace, my two best friends.

I'm about to walk away with them when drew grabs my arm and whispers in my ear," don't forget about tonight sweetheart." with that drew leaves and I am assaulted with questions from the two strange people I am with.

"Why are you wearing your nice clothes? why are you with drew? how do you know him? I'm so confused what's going on?!". Those questions all come from grace seeing as gabby already knows the answers. grace was out looking at some college yesterday so she missed my big arrival and the rest of the horrifying day.

On the way to y locker I explains the situation to grace who just stares at me in awe before muttering about how I'm a lucky bitch and all other kinds of compliments. when I reach my locker I see that heather, chase, Alexis (i call her alex), and max waiting for me. Besides grace and gabby these four people are my best friends. sure I have other friends but i would die without these six people in my life.

"Dude why didnt you hangout with us yesterday?" chase asks. chase is 6'2" with brown hair and blue eyes. he is like a second brother to me and he gets along well with josh which is a bonus.

I decide to just let gabby explain to everyone and tell them that I have to get to calc. they all say goodbye after I promise ill eat lunch with them today.

I'm about to turn a corner on the way to calculus when I am suddenly knocked over.

"I'm so sorry, here let me help you"

When I look up I am staring into the face of Adam knight, the schools one and only lacrosse super star.
