The next morning, Beth woke up slowly, happily. She felt truly safe for the first time, that close to Leo. She felt like everything wrong with the world suddenly disappeared, like nothing else existed. Her eyes fluttered opened and she listened to the sound of his heart beating, his chest rising and falling with each breath. Eventually, Leo woke up, too. He smiled and looked down at her, kissing her forehead.Beth blushed.

"Morning," she said.Leo slowly got out of bed."I'm hungry," he said, and walked out.Beth got out of bed and followed him, since she was hungry too. They both split a muffin.

"I wonder where Jen and Raph are," Leo said."Probably fucking in Raphs room," Beth giggled.

"Wow, language?" Leo said, surprised that Beth was being profane."Sor-ry, " Beth snickered and took another bite of the muffin.

"So you think I can train today?" Beth asked. "I mean, I think the stitches are ready to come out-"

"I want you to wait a little longer," Leo said, pointing to her stomach where the injury was. "It's not worth the risk of it re opening."Beth nodded, "you're right," she said.

Meanwhile, Jen and Raph were also waking up.

"Ugh, time for training," Raph groaned, then he yawned. Jen nodded, tracing her finger along the crack in his shell. She smiled."Where did this come from?" She asked, pointing to the crack.

"Well, master splinter had us in a bowl before he got mutated. When he got mutated, he dropped the bowl and my shell cracked from the fall," Raph explained.

"Hm, well I like it," Jen said, "in a non-weird way."Raph chuckled, then slowly got out of bed. Jen followed him out into the kitchen to see Beth and Leo.

"Wow, the lovebirds decided to wake up," Beth snickered. Jen rolled her eyes and Raph blushed.

"I'm gonna go to the dojo, it's almost time to train," Leo said, and he walked out of the room."Raph," Beth said, "can I have a minute with Jen alone please?"

"What? Wanna gossip with her or something?" Raph scoffed."Yup, I wanna know if you guys used protection last night," Beth retorted. Raph blushed as red as his mask.

"Fine! Okay! I'm leaving!" He exclaimed in embarrassment as he threw his hands in the air and went straight to the dojo. Once he was gone, Beth leaned in and spoke in a hushed voice to Jen.

"We need to go back out into the city again," Beth said, "I can't stop thinking about it."Jen nodded, "me either," she admitted. The fact that her father was working for the shredder had been haunting her in the back of her mind for a while now.

"Tonight," Beth said, "and this time we're gonna take them head on."

"But there's only two of us!" Jen exclaimed quietly.

"You're invincible and were both mutants. If I die, you just bury me. No sweat," Beth said.

"No, it's too dangerous, you're already hurt bad enough and-" Jen began, but Beth cut her off."I'm going with or without you, Jen. I'm just more likely to die if you don't come," Beth said,

"it's your choice. Meet me at the sewer cap we tracked the scent through last time," Beth ordered, her voice sounding firm. It was that moment that Jen realized Beth was very serious about this. She sighed.

"I'll think about it," Jen said.

"I'm coming with you" Jen said quickly.

"Wow, that was quick" Beth replied looking at her in surprised.
