'It's here? It's here papa look!'
The eleven year old ran into the kitchen almost knocking his Uncle to the ground. The twenty seven year old chuckled at his nephew whom had just received a letter from his companion overseas attending boarding school.
'Slow down tyke.'
His uncle reprimanded him with a tap to his nose affectionately as he waltz out the door to a business meeting having dropped off his father's financial reports for the week.
He had taken them up since the death of his mother and like his father even though he had the skill for business hated anything to do with numbers; hence why he was the most sort out arts dealer there was in Karston city.
He would rather stare at art than sit at a desk counting finances.
'Papa! Papa!'
The old man smiled fondly at the enthusiasm in his grandson's voice answering him with a hum around the rim of his coffee mug.
Said grandson even at eleven years old still held the highest esteem there was for the young master who not four years ago had left for schooling overseas. The same young master who was a complete idol and true friend to the young blue eyed boy staring up at his grandfather with happiness at receiving such a small token as a piece of paper with words written from his companion.
It had become customary when the young boy would receive a letter from his older companion that his grandfather would read to him so they would share in the older boy's adventures overseas.
Even if said older boy didn't know that both pair did this customary, the younger boy did not want to destroy the trust that the young master had in him.
But his papa was special he thought to himself. I love him and papa said we don't forget the ones we love. I love him like papa and uncle.
Oh so the little boy thought. For love came in such rare forms and to distinguish them was the rarity of finding something much more valuable than life itself.
The now sixteen year old older young master who hated with a passion being so far away from everything that he loved, though considering his ill feelings he still wrote words of comfort to his dear young friend back home in Karston Bay.
'Faster papa!'
Whined the eleven-year-old at his grandfather who chuckled at his young-lings impatience as he opened the letter.
As the older man finally opened the envelope taking out the singular piece of paper he frowned at how unusual it was seeing as the young master would write words upon thousands to his loving grandson.
His smile fell at the singular sentence on the page and gulped not knowing what to say to his grandson who at this very moment was still filled with excitement.
How do you tell your grandchild that the person he idolized and loved with compassion and warmth as if he was his own blood only wrote one sentence that could destroy him?
The older man closed his eyes and shook his head; so, the rumors were true, the young master at the youngest age of sixteen years had been initiated. The youngest heir to ever do so as the initiation age was that of twenty-one. A prodigy comes to life.
Something he was sure that his master was proud of, that one of his sons will one day lead them.
The words written on this letter made a whole lot of sense to the older man, yet how could he explain this to his precious grandson who was naive to the world that surrounded him.
