Mason and Emma eventually did meet the next year during July. They stay very close and even dated for 2 years. When Emma was 16 she moved to Houston with other family so she could be closer to Mason. Emma died at age 18 in a car crash because she was hit by a drunk driver. Mason soon after committed suicide by hanging himself because he couldn't live without her.
