Kathy's body was splayed out across the sidewalk. Blood pooled around around her. What was left of her body was contorted into horrifyingly unnatural positions. Her intestines were pulled out like magician's trick, going and going and going. A humanlike creature loomed over her. Tendons and flesh hanging from it's open mouth. I noticed that it was wearing clothes, blue blood stained shorts,an open filthy light blue shirt. Oh my god, it was my mailman Tom. His skin was dirty and bloody and torn, but it also had this radiating warm glow. It reminded me of... something. What did it remind me of? Then it, he, turned and looked straight at me.

I quickly swirled around and grabbed one of the metal chairs. I swung it at him and hit it hard enough to stun him. I ran back into the bakery and barred the door with a little wooden table. I don't think it will hold long. I've never had this much of an adrenaline rush in my entire life. My blood was soaring through my veins my heart pounding faster and faster, my mind flashing from one image to the next, not really processing them as actual thoughts. I ran back into the kitchen and grabbed the huge break cutting knife and headed through the back door to my little blue car. I got into the front seat, threw the knife into  the passenger seat and it took 5 or 6 tries for my shaking hands to get the car to start.

Oliver.

I speed to the school and hopped out of the car. It seemed almost empty. Where did everyone go? Was there an evacuation I didn't know about? Did everyone already know about those...monsters? As I ran to the front door of the school, knife in hand, I realized the door was wide open. I ran into the building not thinking twice about it. I ran past small children's artwork. Finger paintings of flowers and bunnies. It's almost Easter. Oliver was so excited, he talked about the Easter bunny just about every night for the past month.

"Oliver! Oliver are you here!"

I ran down towards the kindergarten room. It was a small school and if he was still in there it would be in that room. He wasn't the type of kid to just run off, he would do whatever his teacher told him. He loved her so much, and she loved him right back. I remember her going on and on about how creative and smart he is at the his parent teacher conferences. And every night when I asked him how school went the first thing he'd always talk about was Miss B.

My feet felt like they weren't even touching the ground.I'm pretty thin but I'm not an athlete in anyway. I don't think I've ever ran this fast in my life. Fear ran through my blood until it felt almost stiff. Every single muscle in my body was tensed.

"Oliver!"

Nothing. Tears sprung to the corners of my eyes. This can't happen I can't lose him. The door to his classroom was cracked open. I slammed it open wide without even thinking. Big mistake. Three children turned their heads to look towards the noise.Except they weren't exactly children. Their mouths were covered in blood and they had the same glow as the mail man. Their eyes were all black.Did the other one have that? I looked to the rest of the room. To their left were three bodies. Blood pooling around all of them, a random assortment of internal organs scattered about. Their limbs were either torn off completely or bent into unnatural positions. One of them had blood
splattered wavy blonde hair.
