A Year Together (A Near X Reader)

Chapter 1: Wh-What......

Y/n pov

I wake up in my white and black room. Somethings off. My mother always woke me up for breakfast even during the weekends. I kept thinking about why she didn't wake me up.

I look at my night stand a see my phone on 100%. I grab it. It's 8 which is the time she wakes me up. I get up and walk down the stairs which are made of wood which means I can't be quite.

I see my mom in the kitchen making breakfast for me, my older brother Landon, and my father. My father is the head of investigations or police chief. My older brother works with my father and I, well I'm the number 1 detective in the police station which means I solve many, many cases and I'm only 18.

"Hello "sniff" honey" my mother said which I was wondering why my mother was crying. I wasn't going to college.

"Mom what's wrong, is brother going somewhere? " I asked her since my brother always traveled around the world.

"I'll talk to her bev, y/n let's go to the living " father told my mother and me.

My father walked out of the kitchen and dining room. I looked to my mother and brother with a questioning look. My mother faced me and smiled and my brother nodded towards the living room. I walked towards the living room scared to find out.

"Well, honey theirs an experiment that includes 20 or more people that are around your age, and they want you to take part." father said.

I was shocked. They want to experiment on teens around my age.
That is the most horrible thing. But what's the experiment. Is it hormones, puberty or what boys and girls think?

"What's the experiment about? " I asked my father.

"Love"

What?? That's weird who is conducting the experiment and I'm wondering if their a genius or a really really stupid scientist.

"Wh-What, who's conducting this experiment?? " I demanded my father.

"L, the greatest detective in the world and his successors are taking part too." My father said answering my question.

"When will I be leaving and how long will I take part in this experiment"

"You will be leaving Wednesday and the experiment last a year. "

What the experiment lasts a year. I will be 19 by then but I have until Wednesday to pack and say my goodbyes. I better say my goodbyes to my friends or my friend.

"I'll leave you alone to pack and to say your goodbyes." My father said to me.

"Okay"

I left the house through the front door towards my car. Before I turned on the engine I called my best and only friend I had.

"Hello y/n"

"Can I come over to your house for a bit? "

"Sure"

"Ok see ya"

I hung up before she can say goodbye. I drove out of the garage and towards the street. I remember what happened to my bffs car.

Flashback

"Noooo this can't be happening" said Amy

I started to laugh really hard. Amy's car wondered in to the street without Amy and me knowing. It was my brother who told us the car was moving. The car ended up hiting the garbage cans and getting garbage all over the car.

"Nooo. " Said Amy

"Well Amy, your parents are going to kill you. Nice knowing you." I said joking.

" Well I'll inform my parents about this" said my brother Landon.

"We can blame this on your brother, whispered Amy but fails.

"Hey. I just said that the car was rolling away while you and y/n argue." Said my brother

"Yeah right" I tuned out the argument between my brother and my bff. I was focusing on the damaged car. The car was a mini blue Cooper. The back window was broken with branches going into the car. (Don't get Pervy)

"Y/n, are you coming?" Said my brother

"Yeah just examining the car. "

"I'm done, I'm so so done" muttered Amy.

Flashback end

The flashback ended as I was pulling up to Amy's house. She waited on her stairs Amy is that rich girl that no one knows. While I was the new girl in high school, Amy was my only friend, she was sweet, kind, and told me where everything was while the popular girls made fun of me and Amy.

"Hey, what did you want to talk about?" Amy asked

"We should go inside and talk instead of out here." I said worried about what I have to talk about.

After we entered Amy's room which is the thrid floor. Her room was decorated with Eiffel towers and with pink walls.

"So what did you want to talk about?"said Amy.

"Well I'll be leaving on Wednesday..... " I said worried about what she'll say.

"What, taking an unexpected trip ok, how long?" Amy asked

"I'll be gone for a year but-"

"You can't leave me here"Amy said interrupting me

"But it's an experiment which the great L himself is conducting." I said

"Oh but still, I have an idea" said Amy brighting up

"Text me or write a letter to me. "Amy said

"I love that idea"

"Yay, you should get going you need to pack for a year. Get 3 suit case thats what I always get if I'm going on a long trip." Said Amy while pushing me down the stairs and out the front door.

"Bye Amy"

"Bye y/n"

I drove home ready to pack all the stuff I need.
