A Year Together (A Near X Reader)

Chapter 5: The First Day

Y/n PoV

The day light shined through my white curtains. I get up knowing that I'm early a raiser but didn't care.

I got dressed.

(That's you hairstyle and cloths plus shoes, don't judge the fashion unless you try it)

I looked in the mirror and saw how I was dressed.

I opened my door and walked out to go down stairs. I remembered that we need food so I went back inside my room to get my purse.

I knocked on Near's door.

"You may come in, y/n." He said through the door.

I opened the door to see that Near was getting dressed.

"Should I come back another time?" I asked while closing the door.

"I am now fully dressed y/n." He said.

I opened the door to now see Near fully dressed.

"Ok, I wanted to let you know that I'm going grocery shopping, do you want to go with me?" I asked him.

"Hmm, sure I got nothing to do." He said as he stood up and got his shoes on.

I climbed down the stairs and went to the front door waiting for Near.

Near finally came down the stairs, he looked at me this time noticing what I was wearing.

"Near, what's wrong? Is their something wrong with what I'm wearing?" I asked him looking down at my outfit.

"No, I just noticed what your wearing. It fits you perfectly." He said. I blushed.

"Let's go Near." I said as I opened the front door to the outside world.

We both stepped out to the front porch. We were shocked to see that Mello and some other kid outside our house.

"Hello Near." Said the other kid. He looked weird. He had brown hair with orange tinted goggles around his eyes. He had a striped shirt and weird looking pants on he also had boots on.

"Hello Matt and Mello, What are you doing at our house." Asked Near.

"Well I wanted to know how the experiment was going with you and your partner." Mello said very innocently while pointing towards me.

"It's going fine Mello. Nothing for you to worry about. We will be going." Near said as he pulled me by my arm.

We left towards the grocery store.

"What was that about, Near?" I asked him while walking. The grocery store was very close so we didn't drive but it would've been smart.

"They always picked on me at the orphanage. So I just ignore them." He said in his monetone voice.

"Oh, ok." I said while we both entered the grocery store.

I got a cart while Near went to the vegetable area of the grocery store.

"What should we get, miss y/n?" He asked me.

"Well we have to get veggies that we can eat plus cook with so can you get tomatoes, oranges, and apples? Get 6 of each." I said to him.

I got squash, lettuce, peppers and several other veggies plus fruit.

"Here, miss y/n." Said Near as he handed me the veggies and fruits. I put them in the cart and walked towards the meat area of the grocery store.

"Hmm, porkchops, hamburgers, and steak I can make." I mumbled to myself as I got them and put them in the cart.

"Near, do you want to get anything else as I get eggs, flour, milk, and pancake mix?" I asked him.

"I'll meet you near the milk." He said. He then left towards the sweets area.

I walked around and found the eggs, flour, and pancake mix. I finally found the milk and as I expected Near was standing their with lots of sweets and ice cream.

"Wow Near, do you have a sweet tooth?" I asked him as he put all the sweets in the cart.

"Yes and I thought you might want sweets so I grabbed lots of them." He said.

"Well,  thank you. I think we're down shopping for food let's go to the check out area." I said to him.

"Ok, let's go." He said agreeing with me.

We walked towards the front. We went in the shortest line possible. We finally made it to the front entrance but what was their was shocking. Mello and the kid called Matt waiting for us.

"Mello, Matt,  what are you doing here?" Asked Near.

"Well we wanted to ask y/n if she wanted to trade partners since me and Matt hate our partners." Said Mello.

"No, I'm quite happy with Near." I said while motioning to Near to follow me.

We walked by them with are lips shut. They kept on saying cruel things but we kept on ignoring them and kept on walking.

Once we finally made it towards our house. We opened the door to see that our house was perfectly fine. Everything was ok.

"Thank you, miss y/n." Near said to me while we put all the food on the counters.

"No need to thank me Near, and call me y/n." I said to him while I put some veggies in the fridge.

"Do you need help putting some of the food into our cabinets and fridge?" He asked me.

"Yes, thank you." I said to him while smiling.

He started to put the sweets, flour, and pancake mix in the cabinets while I put the rest of the food in the fridge.

Once everything was put away I started to get hungry. So I made salads for me and Near.

"Near do you want some salad?" I asked him.

"Yes, thank you." He yelled from upstairs.

I got a bowl and put his salad in the bowl and I left the kitchen and went up the stairs.

I knocked on his door.

"You may come in." He said to me through the door.

"Here is your salad Near." I said as I opened the door.

He stood up and walked towards me. I handed him his salad.

"Thank you, y/n." He said.

"Your welcome, Near." I said to him while closing the door.

Today was a big and wonderful day.
